Essie Resort Collection - Nail Lacquer for Summer 2010

The high end brand Essie has come out with four new and fun nail polish shades to heat up your summer. The four shades are: "Lapis of Luxury", "Turquoise & Caicos", "Playa del Platinum", and "Splash of Grenadine". All colors are meant to remind you of a relaxing and exciting place far, far away. "Lapis of Luxury" is a cornflower blue color, a distinct shade that blows all other blue shades out of the water. "Turquoise & Caicos" is a rich, vibrant green-aqua that will make you feel like you are in the middle of an island getaway. "Playa del Platinum is a light, muted, sandy grey color that matches the season's current trends and hottest shades. "Splash of Grenadine" is a pretty violet pink that would compliment and skin tone.

I purchased "Lapis of Luxury" and "Turquoise & Caicos" since these seemed to be shades that are harder to obtain from other brands. This has been my first time using Essie nail polish, and I am not disappointed. The colors are super rich and distinct. However, two coats are almost a must or else the color will not be as bold, and the drying time takes forever. I even applied a quick dry coat on top and my nails still managed to get smudged. The other downside is the price. Just like its competitor brand, OPI, a single .5 fl oz bottle retails for eight dollars. Luckily I got these on sale, or else I might have been more on the disappointed side. Essie nail lacquer can be purchased at specialty beauty stores such as ULTA and Sephora. Although, I would recommend going to the store ULTA to purchase these since ULTA tends to have offers such as "Buy 1 Get 1 Free" deals that can also be combined with their store coupons for additional savings.

The new summer 2010 Resort Collection from Essie offers unique and fresh colors, just at a price that more people are not really willing to pay for. I would recommend picking at least one color up since these are seasonally probably will not stick around for long.
