Essie Wedding Collection 2010

Gwendolyn Taylor
Essie has just released their latest limited edition collection of nail polishes just in time for the wedding season. With six sheer, beautiful shades, these will have your nails complimenting your wedding attire perfectly. The six shades in this collection include: Petal Pink (a creamy, light pink color), BBF Best Boyfriend (a creamy mauve color), Pillow Talk (a sheer nude color), Walk Down the Aisle (a solid, creamy white color), Show Me the Ring (a pearly color with a golden touch), and Main Squeeze (a shimmering, sheer opal color). All colors are light and passive, enough to shine, but not overpowering.

My favorite shade is "Show Me the Ring". It's a very pretty pearly off white color with a slight hint of gold to it. I have seen many similar shades, but this is the only shade that I have found so far that does not have a rainbow/iridescent tint to it. This only has a sheer golden tint to it. I am Asian and have a more yellow tone to my skin, so nail polish shades can be kind of tricky with me and I have to make sure it doesn't make my skin appear more "yellow-ish". I have found that most pearly white colors with a hint of iridescent or rainbow tint to it does not complement my skin very well. "Show Me the Ring" is a unique color that will not only compliment Asian skin tones like me, but anyone really.

Although these colors appear sheer in the bottle, a standard two coats are just enough to show the nail polish color's true appearance. Even though these are wedding themed, they can be applied for any occasion or any day really. Since these are more conservative colors, they can almost compliment any skin tone. These are available through online retailers and specialty beauty stores such as ULTA. These usually retail for $8.00 a bottle and I would recommend picking these up when ULTA has their "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" sale on Essie products. Don't wait too long though; these colors will not be out for long.
