The Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Bronzing Gel is a new summer product intended as a bronzer and tan enhancer. The bronzer gel is available in only one shade but works with any skin tone. Read about my experience with the lightweight formula that is usable on its own or underneath foundation.

What is Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Bronzing Gel?

This unscented face bronzer is a part of Estee Lauder's Bronze Goddess Summer Color 2010 collection. The item is limited edition and comes in a squeezable tube. The gel is a tan enhancer, cheek illuminator or a face bronzer. This is not a sunless tanner for the face and does not turn skin orange.

Color

The color of Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Bronzing Gel is a dark bronze with a slight gold shimmer. The color appeared too dark when I first squeezed it out of the tube. However, upon application the bronzer is light and adds only a subtle hint of color. A follow up of powder bronzer or blush is applicable, which makes the gel bronzer easy to use for a layered but not overdone makeup look.

There is no streaking or color mismatch when applying Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Bronzing Gel. Unlike a sunless tanner, the product blends easily and quickly. I was able to remove it each time with regular makeup remover or a makeup removing wet cloth.

Benefits and Uses

I found the bronzer gel to be suitable both when I had a tan and when my tan was wearing off. I applied it all over my face and neck and followed up with my foundation. My face tan appeared enhanced without being drastically different from the rest of my body. There is nothing worse than an orange face and a pale body.

The product is usable as a cheek contour, although I prefer to use it all over my face and underneath liquid foundation. I think this creates a more even look and allows a blush to act as a color contour.

Estee Lauder's bronzing gel contains no SPF, which was disappointing.

Texture

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Bronzing Gel is a light and non-greasy formula. I enjoyed wearing it underneath my foundation as it did not feel heavy or alter my foundation's coverage.

Results

I really enjoyed wearing and using Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Bronzing Gel. My face appeared radiant and the bronzer gel worked with my regular foundation. I could apply any blush or face highlighter over the product for a polished look. I had no breakouts or greasiness on my face, and I really enjoyed the light feel. I tried using Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Bronzing Gel alone and without foundation. The results were certainly appealing with a subtle hint of color. As this is not a self-tanner, I found the gel easily removable and it wiped off with a wet cloth.
