Estee Lauder Maximum Cover Waterproof Foundation Review

Covers Acne, Scars, Freckles, Large Pores - Covers Anything You Need to Hide! Makes Skin Appear Flawless and Lasts for Hours in High Humidity and on Oily Skin

I went in search of the perfect makeup ~ and I do believe I found it! I doubt there's a blemish out there that this foundation can't cover. It's packed with pigment, and yet feels light and silky on the skin. Foundations that I've tried in the past have been fair at covering blemishes, but many of them wear off throughout the day and the blemishes peek through. After spending too many summers in the sun, my face is afflicted with several freckles. One sweep of the Max Cover Foundation & they all disappear! I also have very acne prone skin, with fairly large congested pores. My blemishes, scars from past blemishes, and pores also disappear when I apply this foundation! It really is an amazing sight to see. Just out of curiosity, I applied foundation to only half of my face one day to see the difference. The "unfinished" half of my face looked like someone else's, and the "finished" half looked like a pore-less blemish-less wonder!

Most other foundations I've tried only work well when used in combination with a primer. However, the other day I was in a rush, and only had time to apply my Biore moisturizer before applying the foundation. The result was still silky smooth, and my pores were still undetectable! Without a primer, the foundation is a bit tricky to apply because it dries very quickly. If you have trouble blending, I'd suggest applying it while your moisturizer is still a bit dewy on your skin. But, for people with super oily skin, such as myself, I welcome the fast that it dries so quickly. I've found that the finish is a bit more matte if you let the moisturizer sink in for a couple of minutes before applying the foundation. I simply apply it with my fingers (it's too expensive to waste by applying with a sponge!) I did try the sponge technique a couple of times, but found that the sponge soaks up too much of the color, and it's even tougher to spread. I also tried a foundation brush and the finish was streaky (you could see the brush lines) and I ended up smoothing everything out with my fingers anyways!

This Estte Lauder product is one foundation with amazing staying power! The website states that it's waterproof - I've yet to test that theory in a swimming pool or lake. But I do know that when I splash water on my face to wash it at the end of the day, the water beads up and rolls off. It isn't until I use my St Ives Apricot Scrub or rub vigorously with a washcloth or my fingers that the makeup starts to come off. This is a huge plus for me, as most foundations I've tried fade within hours of putting them on. This makeup manages to stay put without looking mask-like or feeling heavy.

Estee Lauder should consider making this in colors for people with darker skin. I have medium skin and use Color # 7 (Medium-Deep) which will just barely be dark enough for summer when I get tan. I might have to mix with some liquid bronzer for it to look natural. Also, I do wish it would stay a bit more matte (I have insanely oily skin) - shine does start to peek through after about 4 hours. I use Coty loose setting powder and Model in a Bottle setting spray, both of which help quite a bit. But I don't think any product out there can completely combat my oily skin! At least this one stays for double the amount of time compared to most "matte" foundations. It's also very transfer resistant - won't easily smudge onto clothes or people, especially when the makeup setting spray is used.

I don't know what I'd do without this foundation! Anyone with flaws to hide should give it a try. It costs around 30 bucks a tube, but a little goes a long way. One small tube has lasted me for 6 months - and I use it at least once a day. It's an amazing value for the money.

thanks for your review. but if you have 'yet' to try going into a swimming pool wearing the foundation, I think you are missing out on a huge component of writing a review. everything else was good though. for the future reference, i think the readers would like to see you actually completing the trials (like swimming with the foundation on) and then write a review about it. Thank you for writing reviews on makeups, it really helps others to save money.
