Estee Lauder Pure Color EyeShadow for Winning Eyes

Susan Slade

When you purchase an Estee Lauder product, and they have the promotion on where you get free samples, you never expect to get a sample that lasts you six months or more. That is what happened with the Estee Lauder Pure Color EyeShadow.

As soon as I opened up the samples, and saw the blue compact with a mirror, I knew that it was going in my handbag. This product is a smaller version of the $20 full-size eyeshadow.

I pressed the clip on the side of the compact, and opened it up. The eyeshadow is located to the side, at the bottom of the compact, with it's own small applicator next to it. The color I have is Hot Cinnamon. It is a brown/bronze color with a shine to it.

I apply my eyeshadow in the morning, and then it normally lasts me all day, unless we are out somewhere special, or with friends. Then I go into the bathroom to check on my eyeshadow, and if I need more, I open up the compact and add it where needed.

My eyesight isn't the best, and sometimes the lighting in bathrooms isn't that good, so having it's own mirror allows me to have it close up.

The Estee Lauder Pure Color EyeShadow goes on smoothly, and looks creamy, with a slight shimmer. As mentioned it really does stay well all day long. I haven't found it to crease, or flake.

What Estee Lauder say about their product:

"Eyeshadow that makes eyes come alive.
True Visio technology transforms ordinary color and makes it extraordinary.
Smoky shades are smouldering, bright shades are brilliant, light shades now light filled.
Your eyes are ultra expressive. Prepare to make an impression.
Maximized color impact
Magnified vibrancy, clarity and dimension
Amplified brilliance"

If you are buying the eyeshadow you can choose between a matte, satin, shimmer, or metallic finish. It is ophthalmologist tested, and fragrance free.

Here are the colors available: Amethyst Spark, Newport Blue, Ivy Envy, Provocative Plum, Nocturnal Blue, Enchanted Forest, Smoky Ember, Glacial Blue, Safari Green, Mischievous Mulberry, Polished Platinum, Wild Sable, Lilac Whimsy, Sugar Cube, Sepia Sand, Lavendar Star, Pink Flash, Lavish Mink, Iridescent Violet, Tranquil Moon, Blazing Bronze, Purple Passion, Berry Burst, Sizzling Copper, Black Crystals, Twinkle Pink, Sandbar Beige, Amazing Grey, Rock Coral, Glistening Gold, Wild Truffle, Nude Fresco, Summer Linen, Tempting Mocha, Riviera Rose, Ivory Slipper, Winking Periwinkle, Crystal Sand, Hot Cinnamon, Peacock Blue, Broadway Gold, Chocolate Bliss, Midnight Star, Kenyan Copper, Pretty Penny, Intense Violet, Emerald Star, Sugar Biscuit.

There are 8 colors that I really love, but all of them can be seen on the Estee Lauder website.

As mentioned earlier, I received this sample about six months ago, and have been using it everyday. Today I finished it up. I am so sad that I won't be using this company anymore. However, I do have a sample of Estee Lauder Signature Eyeshadow Quad, which is bigger and bulkier, but will still work for me.

I rarely spend $20 on a cosmetic, but if I run out of free samples, with my Estee Lauder purchases, then I would seriously think about buying it. After all, if the sample size lasted me six months, the full-size one would have to last a year, or more.

Ruth, some of the products you get are full size, which is great. All of the samples are big, not like the 7 day ones that other companies give you.

    Good article.

There should be a color for just about anyone in that long list you mentioned! Six months on a trial sample item is really unusual - you got a true deal on that sample! Great review. rcj
