So. Being the bLoNdE, I used this Eye Gel Creme all over my face... you know, thinking it was the facial moisturizer. Guess what. It works. In fact, I can tell no discernable difference between the two products.
First... two things you need to know about me:
1)I am cheap by nature, so shelling out $40 for .5 oz (15ml) worth of lotion is unheard of for me.
2) My face is combination. Oily in some spots, very dry in others. This lotion works on both areas equally well.
I like cruising the clearance racks. I won't by cosmetics unless they are going to give me free crap. So I waited for a free crap offer. And I waited. And I panicked as none were forth coming and I was out of this wonderful stuff. I needed the free crap to justify the purchase. You know I got sooo heavy into withdrawals over being out of this stuff that I broke down and bought a jar in the Duty Free shop for $34 without any free samples! Yes! I did it! No, you don't understand. That was a major first for me. That speaks to just how awesome this stuff is. I cannot do without it for more than a week without breaking down and shelling out the big bucks. Estee Lauder owns me, man. urgh.
So. This marvelous Hydra Complete Multi-Level Moisture Eye Gel Creme comes in a beautiful little blue-tinted jar with a white lid. It is easy for my arthritic self to open, and has a wide top so it's easy to get the cream out as well. The jar, though glass, is not easily breakable. Trust me on this. Ok look... some days my hands just have a mind of their own and tend to let go of things without my say-so. I've dropped this jar into the porceline sink about 5 times now. Not even a chip to it. Neat, eh?
There is barely any scent at all to this cream, which is a good thing. The consistancy is perfect. It is a bit thicker than a normal body lotion, but not as thick as a butter or balm. It is juuuust riiight. You do not need to slather this on thick, either. Just a little dab'll do ya. Really. A teeny tiny speck of it to each area of your face. It doesn't take much at all, which is why those two samples lasted me as long as they did.
They Say: Includes the proven combination of mineral-rich bio-water and our exclusive Hydra-Insulation technology. Plus an extra measure of our exclusive Biosine to help this vulnerable area maintain a strong moisture barrier.
Yes. The re-plumping of the eye area is immediately visible. But as I said, don't just stop at your eyes. Go ahead and use it everywhere on your face.
Soothing and delightfully refreshing, this unique gel creme instantly hydrates away fine, dry lines. Over time, an innovative blend of Hypnea Algae Extracts helps reduce puffiness.
True again! I can for certain see an improvement here, unlike many other over-priced items (some within the Estee Lauder line, even.) This one actually does what it claims to do. Amazing.
In seconds, the eye area looks younger, more rested and completely revitalized.
Look, just put a bit on and then feel your skin. The result is immediate and heavenly. Silky-smooth skin which even looks a bit more youthful. Really, it does.
I cannot find a full list of ingredients, but I do know that this little fountain of youth contains a Vitamin B5 derivative which helps the cream adapt your skin to changing weather conditions. This is important when I'm home in Sweden's changable climate. It has mineral-rich bio-water which seems to just intuitively know which areas of my face need more moisture than others. I've mentioned the Biosine, which helps boost skin's natural production of lipids and proteins. Extracts of Cactus Flower and Mohave Yucca work with the Biosine to rebuild your skin's natural barriers. Aloe Butter, Indian Kokum butter and Brazilian Muru Muru butter can also be found in this lotion.
Look. All of that is just fancy talk to fool you into shelling out enormous amounts of money for this jar. Only this time, it's worth it. There's no fooling about this one.
One additional thing I will mention is that if you get this in your actual eye ball, it burns like hell. I will also add that it is not meant to go inside your eye ball. Please do keep it on the skin, ok?
So. After having slammed many of Estee Lauder's products to the circles of hell over the years, I am now telling you that this is one item I just cannot live without. Five high stars. You owe it to yourself to bite the bullet and grab a jar today.
