Eternal Security of Homosexuals from a Messianic Prospective

Mathew Mount
The New Testament or Brit Chadasha teaches us that we are to seek for ourselves eternal dwellings. Jesus Christ or Yeshua says the following about the issue, "I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings." Luke 16:9 (NIV) In other words if we are charitable with what we have, then according to Jesus Christ this charitably may result in us being welcomed into eternal dwellings.

Although Yeshua was talking about worldly wealth being used as a instrument to gain eternal dwellings, other uses of wealth do exist that could provide eternal security through others. For example the bearing of children and the charity given to them throughout their lifetimes can result in eternal dwellings through children welcoming their parents into eternal dwellings. Consider the following scripture, "women will be saved through childbearing-if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety." 1 Timothy 2:15 (NIV) and also, "A large number of people followed him, including women who mourned and wailed for him. Jesus turned and said to them, "Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep for yourselves and for your children. For the time will come when you will say, 'Blessed are the barren women, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!'"" Luke 23:27-29 (NIV) Overall, the point is that even when Yeshua was being crucified he told women to weep for themselves because people would denounce child bearing sometime after his crucifixion, but what makes this worse is that we are told that women are only saved through childbearing.

How do eternal dwellings originate? The Brit Chadasha says the following, "Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel."" Matthew 19:28 (NIV) In other words Yeshua welcomed the twelve into his eternal dwelling, and then the twelve welcomed others into their eternal dwellings.

The scripture talks about eternal dwellings as follows as descriptive of the church (body of Christ), "you have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the judge of all men, to the spirits of righteous men made perfect" Hebrews 12:22-23 (NIV) In other words the church administers eternal dwellings as the body of Christ through God as judge.

The condemnations of homosexuality and lesbianism in the church are very clear by the writings of Saint Paul, so I will not go into any great detail as they are very impacting upon people in an extreme way. The Brit Chadasha makes clear that according to Saint Paul no one else can lay the foundation of the church that he has already installed, "By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 3:10-11 (NIV) Overall, the point is that the Church as the body of Christ administers eternal dwellings through a long chain of people through Jesus Christ, and the foundation of the Church has been installed by the work of Saint Paul that makes numerous condemnations of homosexuals and lesbians according to the scripture.

You may thus ask how homosexuals and lesbians will gain eternal dwellings. Yeshua says the following about the subject, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick." Matthew 9:12 (NIV) In other words the Church comprises all those in the eternal dwelling of Yeshua that are being made perfect through him because he is the healer that came to the sick to heal the sick. The point is that the church is actually designed to heal the sick, but the sick have to identify themselves as being in need of treatment in order to receive treatment.
