Eternaleds Hydrolux-4 LED Bulb: The World's First Liquid-cooled Light Bulb
My Review of the First Liquid-cooled Light Bulb
Scientists have been trying to figure out how to use liquid cooling technology in light bulbs for well over a decade. The concept of this is quite simple. Studies have shown that the technology would be able to offer 360 degree that is like no other light bulb on the market today. The Hydrolux-4 does not disappoint when it comes to this. A lucky group of us were exposed to this product and here is what we learned.
Heralded as the first liquid cooled LED bulb created, this light bulb can last an impressive 35,000 hours before dying. A closer look at the liquid shows you that it is made up of something called paraffin oil. This type of oil is not harmful and will not hurt anyone if something was to happen to the light bulb. The only thing you would have to worry about is the oil being hot and possibly burning your skin. Basically, you will have to worry around it just like you do with any other light bulb.
Studies conducted with the light bulb showed that it offers the same illumination qualities as the 25 Watt incandescent A-shape light bulbs on the market today. However, the cool thing about these liquid light bulbs is that they require just 4 Watts of power. Anyone who can do math will learn that this is 21 Watts less than the other light bulb. This results in a lot of power saving for those who wish to save a little extra money on their electric bill without sacrificing light in the process. You can also dim the ligh bulb if you feel it is being too bright. This is an added bonus to owning one of these.
Energy efficiency is the main reason that this product is top notch. Studies have shown that this light bulb offers some of the best energy efficiency on the market today. You could save about $157 dollars a year on electricity through using the Liquid Cooled light bulb. If that is not enough to make you want to buy one of these cool bulbs, you will want to look at them because of their long lasting capabilities.
Hydrolux-4 did several tests over an established period of time. This time period was set to simulate a much longer time frame. Results showed that the Liquid Cooled light bulb out performed most of it's competitors. It also was able to last a lot longer than the other light bulbs that it was matched against. This can be attributed to it's ability to cool itself and use less wattage than it's competitors can.
If I had to give my honest opinion of the Hydrolux-4 LED light bulb, I would say that it might change the light bulb industry. It will only be a matter of time before more businesses attempt to create similar light bulbs. Energy efficiency is becoming more and more important to consumers. This is sure to be one of the top light bulbs on the market for years to come and is a must own.
