Etsy Interview with Bella's Earrings

My name is Melcine, I'm the owner of Bella's Earrings, were you can find beautiful and affordable earrings. I named the shop Bella because that was my childhood name. I love making elegant jewelry because elegance brings out the lady in every women, jewelry just makes a girl feel pretty. I work in an operating room , I have two wonderful sons, one of which is a marine in Afghanistan. He will be home in 65 days. I spent of my free time making jewelry.

How and when did you start making jewelry?

After making all this jewelry my friends said I should sell it. While out shopping for fresh water pearls, the cashier
and I started talking about the best way to sell your handmade jewelry, she said on line on Etsy. I knew nothing
about Etsy. When I got home and went on Etsy, I was blown away.

What is unique about Etsy?

Well, I did a little research on handmade based sites and I found that Etsy was # 1. Etsy was everything I wanted in a web site and much more. What I like the most about my shop is the feeling of being in control of my very own shop.

What inspires you the most?

That's it, it is my very own creations, I even get to name each and every one. Hand made items, are well made items.

What is your favorite piece you've created and why?

That has to be the two bell very classy brown earrings. I say that because they were made for a friend of 30 years,
who is in her mid 50s and she owned only two pair of earrings, that is until I opened Bella's Earrings.

She's one of my best buyers. Earrings are a very small accessory that enhances your whole outfit. I love to do custom orders for my customers, because they know, a pair of earrings is being made just for them, it just makes a girl feel special.

What do you want to accomplish?

My shop is a hobby for me so I hope to make jewelry for quite some time. I would like more on line customers, not all of my customers are on line customers. Up until a few weeks ago I did not have my Etsy web analytics, and now that I do, I just love this web analytics. I can search key words and page views.

Do you have any new creations in the works?

I'm always working on something new. Making jewelry is always exciting because their is so much to work with,
pearls, gemstones, silver and gold and on and on. When I go shopping for beads, I just loose track of time. I add new items frequently so come by and visit often!
