I have a degree in journalism which has allowed me to be creative in various forms of media and it continues to lend itself to growing a successful business.
How and when did you start making jewelry?
I have been in love with the art of jewelry making since childhood. I would always spend my allowance on those snap together bead kits. During my teen years I do recall my father telling me that I could not spend my entire earnings on earrings. I did not get my ears piereced until I was in high school, so those purchases were starting to add up. I was so very happy when I realized that I could actually make my own jewelry and I have been doing just that ever since. Each and every item listed at CRawlinsCollection.etsy.com is a piece that speaks to my love and enjoyment of all jewelry.
When and how did you originally find Etsy?
I have always made unique gifts for family and friends, and no matter what the occassion someone would always comment that I should sell my craft. Well, on several occassions I saw a segment on one of the national morning shows where the host was promoting the art of do-it-yourself merchandise and the Etsy brand would always enter the conversation. It took me awhile but I finally got to the place where I could take the time to develop my CRawlins Collection.
What is unique about Etsy and what about the website do you like the most in regards to your shop?
That's simple! Etsy is very easy to navigate. If anyone had told me that I could get online and set up all aspects of the CRawlins Collection with very little trouble I wouldn't believe it. There's an invisible hand working in my shop through Etsy. I find it to very clear and easy to comprehend the process when navigating the many aspects of the online business. There are some days that questions are answered even before they are asked. It has been a full service site for me.
What Inspires you the most in regards to your creations?
Each day brings a new design, a shape, and a color combination! Inspiration is endless and everywhere. The good news is that there is no right or wrong in jewelry design. There is always something for eveyone. I am able to see the beauty in all my creations whether it be a single bead earring or a triple strand necklace.
What is your favorite piece that you have created and why?
That' s a very difficult question to answer especially when each piece listed in the CRawlins Collection could easily end up in my personal jewelry box. It takes alot of discipline on a daily basis not to pick up a new piece of jewelry for me by me. Some of my close friends might say that I do, but in those cases when it's really hard to part with a design I make two! So, I'd guess you'd say that my favorite piece is the CRawlins Collection.
What do you want to accomplish with your online shop?
Well, I guess I want to be part of the conversation. I want continue to design beautiful handmade jewelry that will be available to customers when they are looking for that extra lift in the wardrobe or that very special gift. I want CRawlins Collection to be that place you can go and find what you're looking for and the place to make that request. As I said there is no right or wrong in design therefore if I need to customize a piece I will. I want to be your personal jewelry designer.
Do you have any new creations in the works? If so, what can shoppers expect to see from you soon?
I'm excited about the coming change in season, the start of school, and the holidays. Colors and textures are sparking a big move into the use of textiles in jewelry design and I am very excited about it. I am working on several new ideas that will aid in the growth and reach of CRawlins Collection as a brand. Stay tuned!
Where can readers find out about more information regarding your jewelry and other creations and possible special offers?
I am getting ready for new inventory and a pre christmas sale so I invite all jewelry lovers to visit me at my Etsy shop, CRawlinsCollection.etsy.com
