Etsy Interview with Jewelry by Tiffany

Etsy Interview with Jewelry by Tiffany
First off, tell me a little bit about yourself.

My name is Tiffany and I'm the owner of Jewelry by Tiffany. I've been married for just over a year to my wonderful husband, Justin. We live in Fishers, IN with our two puppies, Braylon and Desmond, and our cat, Malibu. I'm a part-time nanny and I love getting to spend time with children as my job! I'm originally from Atlanta, GA, but moved to Indiana in 2005 when Justin got accepted into medical school.

How and when did you start making jewelry and your other items?

I got interested in making jewelry when an old necklace that I inherited from my grandmother broke. I researched a bit online so I could learn how to fix it. Once I had the necessary tools and a bit of knowledge, I began to play around with making jewelry for myself. I discovered that I really enjoyed getting to be creative in that way and I've been hooked ever since!

When and how did you originally find Etsy?

I have several friends who have been using Etsy for years now, but my first experience with the site came about 6 months ago when I was trying to find the perfect dog harnesses for my two puppies. The selection was amazing and the designers were incredibly talented. I ended up buying two adorable custom made harnesses from Terrier Trousers.

What is unique about Etsy and what about the website do you like the most in regards to your shop?

What I find truly unique about Etsy is that it is strictly for vintage or handmade items. I love that the items for sale on Etsy are unique and not mass-manufactured. I know that I can expect customers who visit Jewelry by Tiffany on Etsy to have a real appreciation for handmade and unique products. It just feels so much like a gathering of artists as opposed to a retail store.

What inspires you the most in regards to your creations?

I love pops of color, vintage-style touches and sparkles! I get inspired most by my grandmother's old costume jewelry, but I've been known to just create a piece to go with a certain outfit as well! I try to picture my items on my friends and family and consider how they might add to an outfit they might wear.

What is your favorite piece you've created and why?

It seems like every new piece I make becomes my favorite! I truly love creating pieces for Jewelry by Tiffany, so I feel excited and proud with the completion of every work. I will say that I do especially enjoy the ones that feel to me like they hold a certain vintage charm. I love classic pieces with retro touches.

What do you want to accomplish with your online shop?

I hope people enjoy the pieces I create and that Jewelry by Tiffany makes it possible for women to get beautiful, high-quality, handmade pieces of jewelry, without breaking the bank! I try to keep my prices affordable for all women, so that we all have a chance to wear jewelry that makes us feel pretty, glamorous and trendy.

Do you have any new creations in the works? If so, what can shoppers expect to see from you soon?

I spend most days in the process of creating a new piece or two for Jewelry by Tiffany, so you can bet I'm always making something new! My shoppers can expect to see a few more high-end pieces in the near future. I'm going to create several items that will feature more sterling silver and precious stones along with Swarovski crystals. I'm also beginning to feature a bit more wire working.

Where can readers find out about more information regarding your jewelry and other creations and possible special offers (including additional websites, blogs, facebook, etc)?

I recently created a blog where I talk about the process of creating jewelry pieces and running the shop. I will occasionally offer specials through the blog. I'm hoping to soon start posting pictures of pieces in the making. I think it may be interesting for visitors to get an idea of how the pieces are made.
