Hello, my name is Leah, and I'm the owner of Leah Jewelry Designs.
I was born in Melbourne, Australia, and moved to Israel when I was 10 years old with my family. I am the proud mother of 5 year old triplets, 2 girls and a boy, and married to my wonderful husband, Eyal. I am a very busy person and love being so. I spend my time between my family, my full time job, studying at the University and designing and making jewelry. If only there were a few more hours a day...
How and when did you start making jewelry and your other items?
I have always loved jewelry - buying and wearing beautiful unique items. I love wearing different colors and different styles and love changing my jewelry on a daily basis. At one stage, I just couldn't find exactly what I was looking for so I thought to myself - why not create jewelry for myself that expresses my personal taste? So I bought all the needed supplies and learned the techniques from books and crafting forums on the internet.
I started wearing my items to work and received many compliments and requests from friends to make them jewelry just like mine. This gave me the idea of creating my own personal jewelry collection and selling it. That is how I came up with Leah Jewelry Designs. This opened a new world of possibilities for me and I have been creating and continuously learning to evolve as a jewelry designer.
When and how did you originally find Etsy?
One of my best friends stumbled upon Etsy and told me to sell my creations there. So I entered the website and it was love at first site.
What is unique about Etsy and what about the website do you like the most in regards to your shop?
Etsy is such a wonderful website, with so many talented artists. Etsy is exceptionally user friendly. It's easy for buyers and sellers to communicate. Etsy is affordable to list and sell. Through Etsy I have reached many people, all around the world.
What inspires you the most in regards to your creations?
I have an infatuation for flowers. I love using flowers in my creations. I also love combining colors.
I love every aspect of the Victorian and vintage eras. I think that these eras are so romantic and I often draw my ideas from jewelry, paintings and different items associated with these eras.
What is your favorite piece you've created and why?
I especially love my Coral Red Rose and Turquoise Necklace. I think that the color combination is absolutely stunning.
I also love all bridal and bridesmaids jewelry. When I think of a bride or bridesmaids wearing my jewelry at a wedding, it makes me very proud that they chose my creations for the most important and significant day in their lives.
What do you want to accomplish with your online shop?
My desire for Leah Jewelry Designs is to continue creating jewelry that expresses people's individual style and personality. Just knowing that people love my jewelry and are willing to spend money to wear my creations is a big enough accomplishment for me.
Do you have any new creations in the works? If so, what can shoppers expect to see from you soon?
I am currently working on a new bridal collection. And of course I am always creating new necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings.
Where can readers find out about more information regarding your jewelry and other creations and possible special offers (including additional websites, blogs, facebook, etc)?
My site on Etsy is always updated with my newest creations.
