Etsy Interview with Mrs. Jabber Jaws
First off, tell me a little bit about yourself.

My name is Christina Masi and I am the creator of Mrs. Jabber Jaws. born and raised in sunny Florida and moved out of the state at 18. I have had a love for art and creating things as far back as I can remember. I started crafting with things that others thought were trash or just never got used and made what I thought at the time to be " Art," I think I was about 8, after that I had done art shows at school and then making more things as gifts for family.

How and when did you start making jewelry and your other items?

I expanded my talents to jewelry making when I was 18 and started selling my Florida style jewelry to people at local restaurants. Then around the age of 20 I started working with wire , precious stones and fine jewelry such as sterling and gold filled, as I could not ware plated jewelry because it would cause skin irritation so I thought I would just start making my own. After months of trial and error my pieces really started turning out and then I started getting orders from family , friends and people that had seen it on them. After years of doing small sales and working with local people I decided to step it up a bit and did several craft shows that ended up being very productive in sales, and again I went one more step and did Ebay for a while but did not like the fact that most shoppers did not care that it was handmade and would complain on the price.

When and how did you originally find Etsy?

I ended up meeting a lady on ebay that had a shop on etsy as well and told me to check it out so I did and well I was just amazed at all the other crafters, creators and suppliers that I was hooked on my first look around. Shortly after I opened up my own shop and the rest is history.

I have been on Esty now for almost 3 years and have had a blast doing it, I have made some awesome friends who support my shops and ideas and wonderful return customers who I enjoy working with all the time. I could not ask for any thing more! I have three shops now one for your every day jewelry mrsjabberjaw.etsy.com and then another jewelry shop dedicated to fine jewelry mrsjabberjewels.etsy.com and then my other shop that is for all my art and craft items mrsjabberthings.etsy.com. The names are not hard to remember and love I the fact that so many people get a kick out of it. Trust me I have earned it time and again.

What is unique about Etsy and what about the website do you like the most in regards to your shop?

Esty is just the perfect place to share your talents and created pieces across the globe, and for my shop it helps get so many different people to explore it and greatly boots my sales! To have so many talented people in one place makes this the site most unique out there!

What do you want to accomplish with your site on line?

My goal for my mrsjabberjaw.etsy.com site is to create unique jewelry at prices that fit everyone's budget, I did not want the prices to high and have so many just window shop that is NO fun, so I work with what I have and always do my best to find the good deals or even reuse pieces to create new and beautiful jewelry! I hope I bring that to all my shops and have enough of a unique look and good quality to make all my shoppers happy!

What inspires you the most in regards to your creations?

For my inspiration on my jewelry well that truly comes from so many compliments which gives me that strive to keep going with my designs and all the support that I get from my friends and family, it is amazing how it helps in being creative! But when it comes down to making a necklace or bracelet most of the time I just sit there look at what I have to work with and just start piecing it together and the end results are always impressive to me! Even when I shop around for supplies I really have no clue what to make with it but just love the piece and think it is neat enough to make some thing later when the time comes!

What is your favorite piece you've created and why?

I can not narrow this down to just one but ..... I always enjoy most making my Mrs. Jabber Jaws specials which are more rare and unique pieces because I create them with harder to find vintage pieces and make them to be one of a kind!

Do you have any new creations in the works? If so what can shoppers expect to see from you soon?

So for future creations on my sites well that is always up in the air as it breaks down to who knows what wild and crazy thing I can whip together . But there will always be something new and unique for sure!

Once my customer base gets a little bigger I hope to branch off to my own web site and ultimately have my own store that would be a one stop shop! But I will not stop on Etsy I enjoy it to much and have so many happy return customers that I want to be able to keep creating for them since the enjoy it so much! I will always be adding new pieces to the shop and who knows what that will be so if you have time to surf the web always be sure to pop in and see what is new!

Where can readers find out about more information regarding your jewelry and other creations and possible special offers (including additional websites, blogs, facebook, etc)?

I have lost track on some of the blogs I have been added to so not sure where I am on that I get several requests to get added to blogs and I just don't keep up! The best thing I can say is to check back on Etsy and I will start to do better at adding notes of places I get listed at!

Well I guess that does it for my story and hope all enjoyed it, I hope that you all get a chance to check out the sites and I am always happy to answer any questions or do personal orders!
