Etsy Interview with Seyshelles
First off, tell me a little bit about yourself.

Hi! My name is Lisa Gadway. I have lived close to the Canadian Border and across the Lake from Burlington, Vermont all my life. I am surrounded by the Adirondack Mountains and the gorgeous Lake Champlain where the four seasons are always welcomed. I have two wonderful grown boys and a very supportive husband. Since my boys have grown and moved on I have taken over one and half bedrooms for Seyshelles creations.

How and when did you start making jewelry and your other items?

I started making jewelry in 2005 when a girlfriend and I attended a jewelry making party and were hooked. I went home that night and whipped up about 13 pairs of earrings! Since then I look back from when I started to now and see quite a change, thank God you learn as you go, I am still learning.

When and how did you originally find Etsy?

I found Etsy from having a conversation with a co-worker who mentioned I should expose Seyshelles to the world on Etsy. I was hesitant at first but tried it, and at first I didn't do well and left but last year I came back for a second try and I am so glad I did.

What is unique about Etsy and what about the website do you like the most in regards to your shop?

I like how easy it is to add items and the professionalism my whole Seyshelles store takes on. I am an amateur but I don't feel so intimidated when using Etsy. Etsy is a very user friendly site.

What inspires you the most in regards to your creations?

As you can see by my jewelry, I love the ocean, beach and islands. Yes I love it all. I hope someday I can retire to the ocean and be part of it every single day. The serenity of the waves, sand and water will someday help me create even more beautiful Seyshelles jewelry. I hope I bring a little bit of the beach to everyone.

What is your favorite piece you've created and why?

I absolutely love the Swarovski Starfish pendants. The colors are absolutely stunning and you can add sea glass or charms and it doesn't take away from the beauty of the pendant.

What do you want to accomplish with your online shop?

I hope to eventually create jewelry for beach and/or ocean resorts. I also love sharing my love of the beach with others and hope it inspires them as much as it inspires me. I hope to someday be a top seller, but that may be a ways away but it's something to look forward to.

Do you have any new creations in the works? If so, what can shoppers expect to see from you soon?

I am hoping to work more with wiring techniques and gemstones so I can incorporate them in with my beach theme jewelry. Gemstones, sea glass and charms - can't ask for much more.

Where can readers find out about more information regarding your jewelry and other creations and possible special offers. (including additional websites, blogs, facebook, etc.)?

I am also able to have virtual jewelry parties which are a lot of fun. Anyone can convo me through Seyshelles for more information.

I currently have a facebook page and an Artfire Studio! And of course there is always my Etsy shop, Seyshelles.
