Eugenia Kim's Hat Collection for Target

Nicole Lang
Target hits the mark again by teaming up with another famous designer. This time the designer is Eugenia Kim with her new line of hats. Eugenia Kim is well known for her hats. The amazing part of this story is that her fame was derived from a bad haircut. After a bad haircut, she made a hat and was discovered while shopping in SoHo.

Celebrities wear her creations quite often and as a result the prices for are pretty steep. Eugenia Kim's hats can be found in between $150 and $400, which put them well out of reach for the average person. That has changed with the launch of Eugenia's new line for target ranging from $15-$20.

Hats are the most underused accessories of the summer. They are fashionable and can give any outfit a different and unique look. They are a perfect accessory for either a dramatic or even an understated look.

The Eugenia Kim collection features twelve original designs. Four of the twelve hats are fedoras. The first of the four is a mint green fedora with a black and white stripped ribbon along the brim. It is unique, however, certainly not one of my favorites. The second fedora is tan with a flower appliqué along the side. This style is one that can be worn with almost anything and is stylish yet not overdone.

The third fedora is a beige and black plaid hat with a royal blue ribbon. The beige in this hat far outweighs the black and the blue ribbon gives it a nice bit of contrasting color. The final fedora in Eugenia's collection for target is simply a black straw fedora with a sequin trim.

Eugenia then takes into account the summer and the effects of the sun and offers up two sunhats. The first is a natural color straw with a gorgeous blue scarf that sits along the brim and falls below the hat to secure in case of a windy day. The second sunhat is a summery white base with a subtle light gray design and a red buckle on the side.

Not to be forgotten are the engineer caps. This style hat is making a comeback. Without too much flash, these are offered in either navy or natural and have the typical buckle at the top.

The last four hats to round out the collection are of quite the variety. The first is a bucket hat that has a brown base color but is full of design and life. It would have to be worn with a very simple outfit free of patterns. Next is a pretty stripped equestrian hat with a pretty blue ribbon lining the brim. The base colors are white with black stripes.

For those looking for a little 20's fashion there is a 20's style hat that is natural straw with a gorgeous kelly green ribbon for a little flair. Finally there is the striped gray cloche. It starts with a light gray stripe and each stripe after gets another shade darker.

All in all this line is pretty and affordable.
