Euromillions Lottery Jackpot Winner Loses $180 Million Ticket

Couple Win Huge Jackpot but Husband Loses Ticket

Tony Payne
It was a huge lottery win, £113 million, that's US$180 million, and an elderly couple from Coventry in the West Midlands of England bought the winning ticket - probably!

The problem is that although the woman always writes down the numbers on their ticket, her husband takes it off her for safe keeping. Now unfortunately he has gone and lost it.

The woman is in her 70's and the couple have been married for more than 50 years, but although a marriage can survive so many ups and downs, you might wonder just how long before she contacts a divorce lawyer.

The winning ticket for the Euromillions Lottery was bought at the couple's local Spar store, which is where they bought their ticket, and the woman wrote the numbers down, but without any proof unfortunately, there isn't a lot that the lottery organisers, Camelot can do.

In case you wondered what £113 million is really worth, if you put that amount in the bank, even at today's low interest rates, you would be earning £8,000 a day (US$12,000) in interest.

The sad thing is that the couple, who have not been named, are struggling to survive on their state pension.

Despite having turned their house upside down, and having gone through all their pockets, the elusive lottery ticket remains - elusive.

A sad story, but one with a moral to it. If you are going to play the lottery, at least make sure the ticket is kept in a safe place.
