Evamist is a spray used by women who are going through menopause. It helps reduce hot flashes brought on by menopause. This drug is sprayed onto the skin and absorbed into the body that way. There is a problem with using Evamist though. It could be harming small children that you come into contact with. There is a link between children who have been in contact with women who us Evamist and children who are heading into puberty at a far too young age.

It appears that Evamist may be causing these children, including boys to grow large breasts beginning at age 3 through 5 years old. There have been 8 known cases of this happening to children who came into contact with someone who is using Evamist. The problem seems to occur when children have skin-to-skin contact with someone who has used Evamist. There are ways to prevent this from happening to young children.

Prevention Technique One- Don't use Evamist if you are going to be in contact with small children. This is the best way to prevent the problem from occurring. Hot flashes are horrible, but nothing compared to knowing that it could cause a child to prematurely mature.

Prevention Technique Two- If you know a child has come into skin-to-skin contact with someone who is using Evamist, wash the area that came in contact very thoroughly. Use hot water and soap. This will help prevent the child from early puberty signs.

Prevention Technique Three- Tell parents if you are using Evamist so that they know this problem could occur. If a parent doesn't know, the parent can't do anything to protect their child from the possibility of premature budding.

Prevention Technique Four- Don't accept Evamist as a treatment for your hot flashes if you are around young children on a regular basis. There are other ways to prevent the hot flashes from taking place but once a child start to mature, there is nothing you can do to stop it.

The best thing you can do if you are suffering from hot flashes during menopause is to talk to your doctor about other methods for alleviating it. Hot flashes are a horrible thing to have to deal with, but you should never put other people at risk for your own comfort. The children should be our first priority in any matter. Learn ways to prevent this from happening to the young children in your life. Choose options that will allow you to be more comfortable without harming anyone else. It is the only fair thing to do.
