On January 17 th 2012, the WWE suspended Evan Bourne for violating its Talent Wellness Policy. This was Bourne's second violation which will keep him out of action for sixty days. Bourne's first offense came back on November 1 st 2011.
After Bourne's first violation I felt the WWE should have took the WWE Tag Team Championships from Air Boom (Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston). Instead the WWE choose to keep the Championships on Air Boom until Bourne returned. This time around the WWE did remove the Tag Team Championships from Air Boom before suspending Bourne. On January 15 th 2012, Primo and Epico defeated Air Boom to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions.
The second suspension by Bourne will probably mark the end of Air Boom. When R-Truth was suspended the first time, the WWE choose to break up The Awesome Truth (The Miz and R-Truth). This is Bourne's second violation, I would not be surprised if Air Boom does not exist when Bourne returns.
When Bourne returns I would not be surprised if he is released. If Bourne violates the Wellness Policy for a third time he will be fired. I'm not sure the WWE wants to have the negative publicity of firing one of their employees for violating the Wellness Policy. Especially in such a short amount of time. Bourne has violated the Wellness Policy twice in just over two months. One of those months Bourne was serving his first suspension. If Bourne was one of the top Superstars in the company like John Cena or Randy Orton, I could see the WWE giving him another opportunity. Unfortunately, Bourne is not one of the top Superstars in the company. For that reason Bourne will probably be released shortly after his return. The risk is not worth the reward for the WWE. If Bourne returns and gets fired, the WWE may get a lot of negative publicity. If Bourne returns and does not get fired, the WWE does not get anything. They might get some more merchandise sales from a lower mid-card Superstar that could easily be replaced by Justin Gabriel.
Do you think Bourne will be released shortly after his return or is the WWE willing to give him a third chance?

Post a CommentThanks for the update on Bourne
It seems like it's a catch 22 situation. But Boune needs to get a bit more serious.
I wonder how many strikes you are allowed until your out? Great writing.
Nice work.
