Evan Chandler, 65, whose son received a multimillion-dollar settlement from the Michael Jackson, was discovered on Nov. 5th in his 16th- floor waterfront pad in Jersey City with his .38-caliber revolver still in his hand. He blew out his brains. Former Beverly Hills dentist was found in bed with a single bullet wound to his head. No note has been found. Chandler was suffering from a serious ailment at the time of his death. Authorities would not give details on the nature of the illness. "There was medication found in the apartment consistent with a serious illness," Stan Eason said.

"He [Chandler] was on his bed still holding the weapon with a single gunshot wound to the head," Eason said. "It's straightforward. Case closed. It's suicide."

According to a family friend, Evan Chandler was depressed in the final days of his life. "Over the years, [Evan] began to develop tremendous mood swings. He was always depressed," the friend said.

He missed an appointment with his doctor, a hematologist at Colanta Hematology & Oncology Center in Bayonne, NJ, earlier in the week that prompted concern for his well being, Jersey City spokesperson Stan Eason said. After several failed attempts to reach his patient, Chandler's doctor, who has not been identified, called the building's superintendent to check on him. The superintendent discovered the victim's body inside his flat at the Liberty Towers located on Hudson Street.

Evan Chandler and Jackson were friends prior to the allegations and Chandler had hounded Jackson to produce one of his screenplays, which Jackson had repeatedly refused. As part of the settlement in the molestation case of 1993, Michael Jackson was required to get one of the child's father's screenplays produced. That screenplay was Robin Hood: Men in Tights. Both parties signed a confidentiality agreement promising not to talk about the case or the settlement in 1996, Chandler filed a lawsuit against Jackson and his then wife Lisa Marie Presley, claiming they breached the terms of the confidentiality agreement by talking about the case on TV. The lawsuit was dismissed three years later.

A family member told the New York Post that Chandler had undergone plastic surgery and regularly administered Botox injections in his face that made him virtually unrecognizable. He started changing his face soon after he first accused Jackson sixteen years ago.

In 2006, Jordan Chandler filed a request for a restraining order against his father after he allegedly struck Jordan over the head from behind with a twelve and a half pound weight. Jordan, now 29 and living under an assumed name in Long Island, New York, has never spoken publicly about the allegation.
