Web Sights for Doing Evangelism

Mathew Mount
The website Got Life approaches the gospel by asking questions that appear to the common person to be serious questions of philosophy, and then the website answers those questions with a formula. The formula is that we are designed to love God, we are however isolated from God, we thus need forgiveness, and Jesus can give us eternal life. The website builds on this formula known as LIFE in order to get people to become saved.

The usefulness of the Got Life website is that it can be used to show to youth that believe that they are smarter than most people because they excel in science and rational thinking. The problem however is that someone like an atheist science professor would be highly offended if he or she ever saw the website. Unfortunately, the website only reduces the message of the gospel into rational apologetic statements combined with bible verses.

The website Simply Share Jesus uses a transformative block that has many faces and changes shapes in order to show pictures while manipulating the bock as the message of the gospel is explained. Simply Share Jesus focuses on the death and resurrection of Christ along with man's spiritual condition as it explains how man can now interact with God for eternal salvation. The usefulness of Simply Share Jesus is that it may work well with children that are vary visual in learning, and it may work well with people that do not know English every well.

The website The Way of the Master uses videos, educational opportunities, and resources to explain the gospel message to people that are serious about evangelism. The website utilizes people with experience in sharing the gospel in order to better enhance work with the gospel. The Way of the Master would be useful for people that are serious about evangelism but who are not able to commit to a seminary school.

The website Kidzplace has been changed to Studentz. The website is somewhat interactive with video demonstrations and such, but it is under development. The future strength of the website in ministry would be to connect people from the web to seeing how various other ministries work in other states with the gospel that are all part of the same North American Mission Board.

Jesus on the Web started in May of 2005, as I Mathew Mount, opened the website to all my friends that I corresponded with concerning the gospel as it related to intellectual subjects. In the past five years the website has grown to nearly 400 members with over 5,600 posts as dialog concerning the gospel has constantly continued between saved and unsaved people. Although I have not kept up with the website as a result of seminary courses taking much of my time, some of my close circle of friends have continued constructive dialog in my absence. Overall, the strength of Jesus on the Web for ministry is that it can keep a multitude of professional ministers on the same page while reaching out to the lost and while reinforcing the faith of one another.
