Eve Hewson Set to Star in Movie "This Must Be the Place"

Memphis Eve Hewson is at it again. Forever stuck with a comma followed by "Bono's Daughter" after her name, she is carving out an acting career for herself. The latest news is that she is to be featured in an indie flick called "This Must Be The Place".

Born in 1991, Eve Hewson's famous parents kept her secluded from the celebrity madness as much as possible, believing that their four children- of whom Evie is the second- should be allowed to have as normal lives as possible and their own choices regarding whether to embrace the limelight or not. For the most part, the Irish papperazzi have honoured their deal with Bono to respect the privacy of his children as long as he cooperated fully with them and even gave them exclusives. It seems, however, that the deal is largely off for those of his offspring who are now over the age of 18. So far, the eldest daughter, Jordan, has chosen to stay out of fame-causing occupations, although the occasional papperazzi still catches her when out with her dad. Eve, on the other hand, has thrown in her lot as an actress. This makes her fair game to papperazzi by her own choice.

She was never shy of the camera. Not only did she inherit the best points of her parents' looks, and a smoking hot figure, but it seems she also got her father's outgoing star qualities. She appeared in "U2 Go Home- Live At Slane Castle" when Bono invited her onstage to dance during a performance of the song "Mysterious Ways" in 2001 and briefly on "The Late Late Show" with her rockstar dad in 2003. But in 2008, she officially stepped out on her own in the acclaimed indie hit "The 27 Club", in which she played Stella alongside Joe Anderson ("Across The Universe").

Since then she has become a coveted target of the Irish papperazzi who are enamoured with her beauty and was recently reported to be dating James Lafferty ("One Tree Hill"). The couple were seen together at the Hewson family's traditional December trip to the Leopardstown Horse Races in Dublin in 2010. Earlier in 2010, she had the starring role of Della in "For The First Time", a 16 minute short about an Irish couple trying to make it in New York City. This little film was pared down and made into a music video for Irish band The Script's song "For The First Time".

As of the time of this writing, her latest effort "This Must Be The Place" is in post-production. It was shot on location in Dublin and New Mexico. In it, Eve plays a goth-punk fan named Mary who has a close relationship with retired rockstar Cheyenne (Sean Penn). The storyline is interesting enough. This jaded former rocker sets out on a quest to find his father's Nazi persecutor and exact revenge after his father dies. Along the way, he rediscovers himself and softens up. The question is, will he take vengeance after all? The film is set to be released sometime in 2011.

It is my hope that Evie will have a varied and successful career as time goes by, and that she will eventually be given roles in movies that don't involve rockstars. After all, she may very well feel that such things are cliche in her life. I would love to see her get the opportunity to stretch into more unfamiliar territory.
