Eve Online Mission Guide: An Introduction to Cosmic Signatures - Exploration Career Advancement Arc

Mission 2 in the first part of Exploration career advancement is titled An Introduction to Cosmic Signatures and will grant me a new bantam upfront (this is great, since it replaces the bantam I sold earlier) and requires me to follow a series of instruction to be presented to me during the course of the mission. I switch over to the granted Bantam, skipping fitting as I most likely won't need it, and head out to the encounter to meet the agent that will be my instructor, Rulie Isoryn of the Sisters of Eve.

My first order is to use the acceleration gate in front of me upon arriving, easy enough. Next task after arriving in the first deadspace room is to loot a cargo container containing 10 Core Scanner Probe I and one Core Probe Launcher I. The second room shows what a gravimetric cosmic signature can be; this one in particular is a hidden asteroid belt containing mostly veldspar. The next site is a Magnometric one, or better described as ruined structures with no to little signs of activity, usually an archaeology site. The fourth room is a radar site, used for the skill of hacking to recover blueprints. Lastly I'm shown a ladar site, or gas clouds known to make boosters.

A vessel that is designed for the process of scanning down sites is the Heron frigate. It is described in the game as "The Heron has good computer and electronic systems, giving it the option of participating in electronic warfare. But it has relatively poor defenses and limited weaponry, so it's more commonly used for scouting and exploration." The heron gets the following bonuses for each level in the Caldari Frigates skill; 5% bonus kinetic missile damage per level , 5% bonus to scan strength of probes per level, 5% bonus to survey probe flight time per level. This ship is the perfect beginning explorer's scanning vessel for Caldari.

Finished with my paid tour, it's time to head back for rewards, 55k Isk base with 39k Isk as a bonus. This completes the mission An Introduction to Cosmic Signatures.
