Evelyn Lozada, Chad Ochocinco Dating Reality Too Much for VH1 Reality Show Execs?

Chad Ochocinco's Garrulousness and Twitter Addiction Seem to Have Gotten Him in Hot Water with His VH1 Bosses

Could Chad Ochocinco and Evelyn Lozada's reality be a problem in the reality show universe? According to many online sites and Twitter, Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver Chad Ochocinco and "Basketball Wives" star Evelyn Lozada have become an item. Although it appears that the match-up will become a gold mine for gossip websites and tabloids, not everyone seems to be thrilled that the two are thrilled with each other.

In fact, their bosses, the executives at VH1, are said to be less than pleased that Chad Ochocinco is dating Evelyn Lozada -- or, rather, that he revealed that he was dating Lozada. They seem most displeased with Ochocinco, according to Huliq, because the football star's own reality show, "The Ultimate Catch," is based on the premise that he is looking for a relationship.

"The Ultimate Catch" is currently part-way through its first season's run.

Not known for his reticence, Ochocinco let his Twitter followers know that he and Lozada are dating.

Normally, it probably wouldn't be much of a problem for network executives to see two of their stars dating. But Chad Ochocinco ran his own spoiler on Twitter before the Season 1 final episode. The question now arises, without the suspense, will anyone tune in to the final episode of "The Ultimate Catch" to see who wins when it is apparent that Evelyn Lozada has become Ochocinco's "ultimate catch?"

VH1 execs are said to be apoplectic.

It is doubtful that VH1 will pursue the situation until after the season finale of the reality show. Then, armed with broadcast data from the show, they will most likely attempt to gain recompense for their losses, if any. It is likely that there will be some sort of repercussion -- perhaps financial -- for the breach of confidentiality, something reality shows are known for and something to which Chad Ochocinco most assuredly agreed to when he signed onto the show.

Never one to shy away from controversy or a working camera, Ochocinco's excitement over his new dating arrangement may have gotten him into a little more trouble than his brashness usually does. Still, with the advent of the 2010 NFL football season, a little adverse publicity might bring in more viewers to "The Ultimate Catch" now that the public has been clued into his real dating situation. The curiosity factor might see more people tuning in to see who was picked and, apparently, dumped by the football star.

Evelyn Lozada, who is part of the new Ochocinco equation, is no stranger to controversy herself. Nude pictures of Lozada appeared on the internet in April. She later sued Vanessa Davis, whom she claimed had hacked her computer and harassed her. Davis said Lozada's claims were unfounded and that she would countersue. The case remains pending.

I was surprised at the excuse Chad
Brittney for not choosing her as his UltimateCatch! She is much better suited for him than Ruby is. Chad used Brittney's son and ex-husband as an excuse for not getting with her, but what about his children and baby momma(s) drama? He probably did Brittney a favor. She seemed too smart and too head-strong for Chad anyway. He did what most guys do,they go for the makeup-look without substance, over substance without makeup. I'm not surprised to hear that Chad is already with someone else. You could tell, and he himself foretold that Ruby would bore him once she stopped kissing him. You go Evelyn Lazano of Basketball Wives, you finally hooked you a rich one. Move over Ruby. he'll have both you and Evelyn. Or did he "Hit-it and quit-it" already? Well at least Ruby's got a ring she can pawn, if it's even real diamonds.

Saul, now that the show is over, I keep trying to find screenshots of him actually talking about Evelyn and found none. It's interesting because sites are quick to take screenshots of "evidence" but I can't find one. Where did you read his tweets? Did you actually see them on Twitter?

  • FLReader 8/30/2010

I agree, Shamontiel. They know before they sign up they aren't looking for anything serious. Shoot, let me have a show. You'd bet I'd find love, be hitched and be knocked up before the reunion. J/K!

Question what does he see in this gold digging skank Evelyn Lozada, wtf is wrong with you Chad? Did you even watch this tramp on basketball wives? OMFG.

None of these people have a life that is so interesting and extraordinary that it warrants a reality show or two. (IMO)

I'm still trying to figure out why in the world he keeps Tara on the show. I know a sense of humor must be important in any relationship, but she's treating the entire show like a joke. Then again, judging from this entry he is, too. I still remember Ray J's illogical view about how he wasn't looking for a relationship. Then why do two seasons?
