Dreaming is something we all do. Not every dream means something, but some do. If you're trying to figure out a dream, or you're just curious, here are even more dream symbols and their typical meanings.

Complex machinery can indicate you think your life is complex and you may be overwhelmed. If the machinery in your dream is running well, you probably feel that your life is running smoothly.

A nightclub in your dream can show you the condition of your social life. Is the club run down, or vibrant and full of great people? A nightclub could also indicate your social life is about to change.

Dreaming about an ocean can indicate the state of your life: rough seas equate to a rough time in your life, and calm waters mean your life is going pretty well. If you're traveling on water you may have a desire to get away from something.

If you experience paranoia in your dream, your mind may be reflecting your feelings. This dream symbol can mean you're overwhelmed by a fear, experiencing anxiety, or preventing something from happening.

When a phone figures prominently in a dream, it can be an indication that you are having difficulty communicating with someone (especially if you're dreaming about having a hard time making a call). This can also indicate your conscious and unconscious are trying to communicate.

If there is a reunion in your dream, you may have a need to look back and obtain better understanding of something in your past. There could also be a goal you are trying to reach that you can't reach alone.

If you dream of running away, you may be feeling socially inadequate. You may also be feeling something in your life is out of control.

Continually seeing a shadow in your dream could mean you're reluctant to make a commitment to a particular person. It could also mean you're rejecting a part of your personality or that you feel the real you is being repressed.

Smoking in a dream could mean you feel you're putting up a front to keep others at bay. It could also mean you desire to quit smoking or you are trying to get away from pressure. Smoking a cigarette can also be a phallic symbol.
