Even Though

My Clarion Call to You

Clarke Waldron
Even though you do not reach out to me,
I know your need.
Even though you believe that no one
knows the depths and darkness that you travail;
You must hear this.

This is what it is to be human.
For we are unique among the creatures;
This which we call consciousness.
We often find ourselves
helpless before the mystery
of the greatly-veiled mind.
A veil which will not part.

It is this which lies
at the root of our discontent.
How is it that we the meek
are at the mercy of such a power?
A power magnificent in strength;
That is the real person who we are.
And yet, we cower before it.

Such is the human condition
for nearly all of us.
Therefore, you are not at fault.
Therefore, I reach out to you,
knowing already your sorrows
and the pangs of your heart.

Come and learn the truth,
unfettered by superstition,
free of conspiracy and deceit.

Even though you do not reach out to me,
I love you.
