Evenflo Triumph Car Seat: One of the Safest on the Market

Robyn
With a seven month old weighing in at over 20 pounds, I purchased an Evenflo Triumph Convertible Car Seat to replace an outgrown infant carrier. After doing a little research on the internet, I found that this car seat is one the safest and best car seats on the market today.

Discovering that an Evenflo car seat was rate high for safety was no real surprise. I did the same research for my two and a half year old, two years ago and found Evenflo to be at the top. For him, I purchased the Evenflo Titan.

The Triumph car seat is very sturdy. In addition, it also is very plush, offering a very comfortable place for baby to sit and sleep. The seat belts are very easy to maneuver. They are also very easy to adjust once I learned how to do it (see mishap mentioned below). To adjust them, there is a knob you turn and simply pull out to give yourself more belt. To tighten, you turn this knob the opposite direction and it quickly tightens for you. This knob is very hard to turn to loosen, though. You really have to put all your strength to get it to move. I assume this probably a safety mechanism. You would not want a knob that was so easy to turn that a child could do it.

The final verdict for me was my baby's response. He loved it! Since he had outgrown the other car seat, he really appreciated all of the extra room. He also looked very comfortable.

This model seems to be a much sturdier car seat than the model I purchased just two years ago. It is amazing how they are constantly improving the technology behind car seats.

I ordered Evenflo Triumph car seat from Target.com for $119.00. This was certainly a bargain for the peace of mind it offers. For a safe car seat, no expense is too large.

The only complaint and ultimately caution I can offer about this car seat is to be careful when you remove the covering. As I was attempting to adjust the straps for a snug fit, I had trouble turning the adjustment knob. Thinking I was doing something wrong, I began removing the cover so that I could see where the straps were, thinking I could determine where to adjust them. When I began removing the cover, I saw white Styrofoam on the side of the car seat under the cover. Call it stupidity on my part, but I assumed this was more packing material. I quickly tugged on it, only to hear a large cracking sound. To my horror, I discovered I had broken a large piece of Styrofoam in half, and what's worse, it was part of the car seat!

In a frantic attempt to remedy the situation, I called the Evenflo hotline. I explained my situation. They were very kind and told me it would work, even if it was broken in half. In addition, they offered to send me a new piece of Styrofoam. I gladly accepted. I was a little uneasy with my baby riding around with a broken car seat. The replacement part arrived on my doorstep within 5 days.

Overall, the Evenflo Triumph car seat is worth every penny. Having been ranked as one of the safest car seats around, I can drive with confidence that my little bundle of joy is properly restrained in my backseat.
