The Evergreen Cat Lodge was formerly the home of the Inn at Soda Creek Bed and Breakfast. The 3,000 square foot building sits on a nine-acre piece of land and contains 32 individual cat suites. The cat-only boarding facility also contains servicing areas, a grooming room, and reception area. Additionally, the owners of the facility live on-site, which makes Evergreen Cat Lodge unique.
Each room is unique; however, each suite is decorated to feel like a home environment and contains full-length glass doors so that your pets can be checked on often without being disturbed. According to the Lodge's website, litterboxes are housed within custom-made enclosures that possess continuous exhaust ventilation. The suites were constructed with materials that are easy to clean and disinfect to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the facility.
The owners of this boarding facility realize that stress can make cats sick. This is why they feel it is important for cats to have plenty of room to play in and explore as well as having no physical contact with other cats in the facility during their stay.
The philosophy of the Lodge states they want not only the cats who stay with them to have a good experience, but for the cats' owners to have a good experience with them as well. Thus, there is no additional charge for administering oral medications, casual brushing, and nail clipping. Additionally, up to three kitties who have the same owner can stay in one suite with no additional charge for the second or third cats. This is rather unique because many other boarding facilities will charge for additional cats as well as for administering oral medications and casual grooming services.
The Evergreen Cat Lodge offers three types of suites an owner can choose to board his or her cat in. The V.I.P. (Very Important Pet) suites are the largest rooms with the best views of the 9-acre land. Each of these suites has large windows and most of them have either a replica electric wood-burning stove or an electric fireplace. V.I.P. suites cost $35 per day. Almost all of the Deluxe suites have windows and most of them are as large as the V.I.P. rooms. Deluxe suites cost $29 per day. Finally, Economy suites cost $22 per day and are smaller, comfortable rooms.
If you have a large family of kitties (more than three), you can book a two-room suite for them. Many of the suites in this boarding facility are connected by cat doors so your family of cats will not be separated.
You will be charged for your pick-up day similar to how a hotel charges its guests. If you pick up your furry friend before noon, you will not be charged for that day. If you pick up your feline between noon and 5pm, you will be charged for a half-day. You will be charged for a full day if you need to pick up your kitty "after hours."
The Evergreen Cat Lodge is also unique in that the facility provides premium cat food for each guest, yet they prefer for each owner to bring his or her kitty's regular food for his or her stay. While it provides more work for the staff at the facility, they believe it is important for felines to remain on their typical diets while being boarded.
It is important to note that this cat-only boarding facility operates by appointment only. They also like you to be able to accompany your kitty to his or her suite and to spend some time with him or her there before you leave. The staff believes an owner's presence helps kitties adapt to their new environment better. However, they realize that this is not always possible. The Lodge even offers a cat taxi service if you ever find yourself in a situation in which you need it. The cat taxi service is $20 for the first 10 miles and $1 per every additional mile beyond ten. The website warns that last minute requests for the cat taxi service for either pick-ups or drop-offs are difficult to meet, so it is best to try to make these arrangements as far ahead of time as possible.
Verification that your kitty is up-to-date on his or her FVRCP vaccine is required before you board with the Evergreen Cat Lodge. Additionally, verification that your feline is up-to-date on his or her rabies vaccination is required if you allow your furry friend to go outside. You can bring a note from your veterinarian with this vaccination information when you bring your cat to the facility.
In addition to bringing your cat's vaccination record, you will need to fill out and bring the Boarding Agreement. The Agreement can be found on the site's Policies & Forms page.
