Making your class different from others is important to an MMORPG. If you don't, then that can decrease the enjoyment you get from playing a class, because you know that your character is the same as every other one. In Everquest 2, the system used to specialize your class is the called the Achievement system.

To get Achievement points, you have to get Achievement experience, which you find by achieving special feats, like killing evil creatures, and finding dangerous places to explore.

The Achievement trees are split up into two different sections. One section is specific for the class, and one for the subclass. For the Brawler class, this means that there is one for the Monk subclass, one for the Bruiser subclass, and one that is common to both of them. This article will focus on the class tree, instead of the subclass tree.

The Strength tree for Brawlers is called the Tiger Sifu tree. After the first ability, which increases Strength (all of the trees for every class have this; the first ability will increase the stat it is based on), you will get an unarmed attack that cannot be blocked in any way, shape, or form, and decreases the Crushing resistance of the enemy, an ability that increases unarmed damage, and gives a chance to double attack while unarmed, an ability that gives a chance to riposte enemy attacks while unarmed, and finally, an ability that greatly increases damage, stats, attack speed, and more, for thirty seconds, but will de-buff you for the same amount that it increased your abilities after the thirty seconds. These make for a hard hitting Brawler, and will be useful if you want to specialize in unarmed attacks.

The Agility tree is called the Monkey Guru tree. After the Agility increasing ability, you will get a one handed staff attack that improves recovery time for our abilities, an ability that speeds up your reuse timer on your abilities, an ability that increases the defense of the Monkey Guru, and finally, an ability that will prevent an enemy from dying, making them feign death instead. This is a versatile tree, making for a good group Brawler, especially with the final ability.

The Stamina tee is called the Mantis Master tree. After the Stamina increasing tree, you will get a ranged attack that decreases the target's stamina, an ability that gives you a chance to do a second attack, an ability that will increase your chance of deflecting attacks, and finally, an ability that teleports you to the enemy, and makes the next attack you do critically hit. These abilities make the Mantis Master good at weakening the enemy, and then quickly going in for the kill.

The Wisdom tree is called the Crane Sensei tree. After the first wisdom increasing ability, you will get a two handed staff attack that will knock down all nearby enemies, an ability that gives you a chance to hit multiple targets, an ability that increases your health, and finally, a buff that makes the next attack hit up to four enemies around you twice. This makes the Crane Sensei good at wading into the enemy, softening up several enemies at the same time/

The Intelligence tree is called the Eagle Expert tree. After the first ability, which increases your Intelligence, you will get a fist weapon attack that spins the enemy, exposing their back to you, an ability that increases your critical hit chance, an ability that increases your chance to parry, and finally, an ability that significantly increases the effectiveness of the Brawler while they are under 30% health. These abilities make the Eagle Expert an effective melee fighter.

With all of the different ways a Brawler can play, there are a lot of different specializations available to those classes. And with the Achievement system, you can enhance your Brawler class however you want. So pick your specialization, and good hunting.

This was hardly an extensive guide, beginners only.
