Every Business Needs a Blog

Dawn Conklin
Do you own your own business or run a business? If you do but do not have a blog for your business, you really should consider starting one. Blogs are a very important tool for running a successful business. By starting a blog you can gain more traffic for your business and more potential customers.

Search engines like blogs; the content on a blog is constantly changing. The more the content is updated the better the ranking with the major search engines. Bringing traffic to your blog through major search engines will in turn bring more customers to your website as it will link to your business. It is also easier to bring traffic to your blog then it is to a website.

On your business blog you will want to update your readers on anything new going on with the business. This will keep readers informed and it will increase the chance that they will be interested in your product or service. Your blog readers can subscribe to newsletters that you publish. The newsletters should include any upcoming events or news releases about your company. Blog readers can subscribe to your RSS feed which will let them know every time you post a new blog post. This will bring you dedicated readers.

On your blog you should post about any new products or services that you will be releasing, keep them informed of any great things that makes your product stand out. You can tell them all about why they do not want to be without your product. If you keep posting about your service or product before it is available, you will get your blog readers excited about it before you release it. When you have a date set for the release, announce it. Once you release your product, make another announcement. As long as you have been updating people about why they are going to want what you have to offer, you should have customers lined up and waiting. Blogs are an important business tool no matter what size your business is. Big corporations keep in touch with their customers and potential customers through a blog and a small business can have the same benefit from having a blog.

You do not have to be selling a new product to benefit from having a business blog. You may not be selling anything at all, this was an example of how you can use a blog to better your business. Most successful businesses do have a business blog, you should too. This article comes from my experience, I have been blogging for 2 years and maintain 6 blogs.
