Every Girl's Wardrobe Necessities

Laura Leiva
While many of our closets hold remnants of last season's trends, some wardrobe staples are a must-have. These items are timeless, and often go well with anything you already have in your closet, giving you plenty of style options throughout the year. Having classic wardrobe choices in the closet also means you are prepared for any occasion, whether it be a night out with the girls or an office meeting. Here are five items every woman should have in her closet:

Flats

For those days you want to leave the heels at home, flats make a stylish yet casual statement, and go with pretty much anything. Go bold by getting a pair of flats in a color like red.

Blazer

A fitted black blazer goes with everything-- from pairing with jeans and a t-shirt to throwing over a summer dress when it cools down in Fall. Look for a jacket that is tucked in at the waist to accentuate your body--not make it appear boxy.

Jewelry

Whether it is your favorite necklace or earrings, having a statement piece of jewelry transforms any outfit from being drab to looking amazing. Invest in a quality piece of jewelry, since it will last a lifetime.

Jacket

In every wardrobe, there must be a classic jacket. Whether you choose a pea coat or traditional trench, a solid color jacket goes with any outfit choice season after season. Pea coats look flattering on any figure, but when shopping for a trench be sure to find an A-line style that comes in at the waist to avoid looking as though you are drowning in fabric.

Black Dress

This is a no-brainer. Having the little black dress in every wardrobe is essential for any occasion, and it gives you a blank canvas to add different accessories, heels and a bag for a new look each time you wear it.
