Everyday Beauty Tips for Easy, Manageable Hair

Kelly Herdrich
Women dream of long luxurious locks that require minimal maintanence to stay fabulous. Unfortunately, without a few tricks up your sleeve, hair can quickly become unmanageable and damaged. Everyday beauty tricks for your hair can help your hair look and stay great.

Don't wash daily.

Washing your hair daily is time consuming, and takes the natural oils out of your hair and can dry it out. Instead, wash every other day.

Use a comb when you get out of the shower.

Brushes can rip your hair out from the scalp. Take the time and use your fingers or a comb to get the tangles out of your hair after a shower.

Don't straighten your hair on a daily basis.

If you're a slave to the straightening iron, remember not to use it every day. Avoid damaging your hair by only doing it a once a week. If you are washing your hair every other day, you can still have that straight look without daily straightening.

Go natural.

If you find yourself rushed in the morning, you can quickly save time on your hair regimen. Natural hair is very fashionable right now. Shower, towel dry it, put a little mouse or gel in it, tousle it, and go. Or quickly blow dry it, leaving it a little damp. It isn't necessary to have done up hair every day.

Accessorize.

If you do decide to pull your hair up, keep comfortable and hair/scalp friendly accessories on hand. Use ponytail holders with the elastic covered, and hair clips with big teeth. You can create a quick and easy up-do with just these items.

Braid before bed.

Get that tousled look in the morning without any hassle. Braid your hair before bed, and undo it in the morning. Your hair will look tousled and fabulous. Scrunch it up, and off you go!

Treat your hair type.

Got dry hair? Try treating it with L'Oreal Elvive Re-nutrition, a leave in product to help revitalize dry hair. Frizzy hair is better handled with Elvive's Smooth Intense product line. Purchase hair products with your hair type in mind.

Make do with what you have.

If you find yourself in a styling jam, and need to work something out for your hair quickly, make do with what you have. Pull hair into a loose ponytail or two cute pigtail braids if you can get by with something cute. Has your hair suddenly been attacked by static cling and frizz? Run a bit of lotion on your hands and through your hair to get you through. Make do with what you have to get through a hair styling jam.
