Bananas contain a major amount of potassium and can not only lower blood pressure but also act as an antacid. Plantains actually hold more potassium than their 'look alike' the banana. They can prevent constipation and treat ulcers. Apricots have a load of beta carotene which is essential for many aspects of the human body. They not only help your eye sight but also protect your heart at the same time. Fruits are an excellent source of fiber as well. So, every time you reach for foods like fruit just remember that they all have their own special nutritional qualities.

There are some people who claim to be vegetarian yet eat fish and chicken.... Newsflash, being a vegetarian means only eating vegetables. But, as healthy as you may think being a vegetarian is, that common misconception is not accurate. Yes, eating too much of certain meats can increase your risk of developing some health problems but not in moderation.

Red meats are a great source of vitamins and minerals that prevent deficiency issues, anemia and they boost the immune system. The truth is that vegetarians are not getting enough natural B vitamins and iron as well as other proteins which could give them just as much trouble regarding their health as eating too much red meat. All meats are good in moderation and don't ever let anyone tell you different.

The protein in these small foods is enormous. Beans are a wonderful way to pack our bodies full of proteins and vital nutrients.

Vegetables are something that should be consumed more than any other foods on an everyday basis. They provide essential elements to our bodies to help us function properly and optimize our full health potential.

The vitamins, phytonutrients, and antioxidants are overwhelmingly important and are in abundance. All veggies are good for you and can help heal what may be wrong with your body. Each and every plant helps in one way or another to maintain, prevent and heal many diseases.
