Everyday Minerals: Why It's Better Than Bare Escentuals and Why It's My Favorite Makeup Line!

Melissa West
As a confessed makeup addict I have tried essentially every major brand of makeup. Recently, though, I have become tiresome of the heaviness of typical makeup. You know, the feel you have mid day when suddenly your face has aged 20 years. I go from looking flawless in the morning to frightening by the end of the day. This yucky feeling led me to mineral makeup, which has been a breath of fresh air.

I began, like most, with the ever-popular Bare Escentuals. We have all seen the commercials and reveled at how gorgeous this miracle makeup could make you, while being so pure that you can sleep in it. So I watched the infomercial, yes I admit it, and immediately determined that BE was to become my new makeup line. I quickly went to my local Sephora and bought the foundation, mineral veil, and all over face color. At first try I was completely sold. The lightness of BE was fantastic, but there were many drawbacks. The formula really dried my skin and there was really not a great match for my fair complexion. These problems coupled with the $25 price tag were a bit much so I switched back to my liquid favorite, Benefit.

Recently, the urge for the purity of mineral makeup has once again steered my interest so I went on a search. I researched every brand known to womankind and finally decided to try Everyday Minerals. The site is adorable and super easy to navigate. Also, upon further inspection I realized that they offer a free sample kit! I mean makeup for free (well plus shipping) - who could argue! So I ordered the kit. Honestly I was expecting a mediocre product. The prices were so unbelievably low that how could a line survive and actually make a decent product. Well boy was I wrong! This is by far the best makeup line that I have ever tried. The foundations are smooth and cover flawlessly. The concealer is excellent (and I am a raccoon). The blushes are adorable and the finishing powders are a dream! The true magic in this line, however, is actually not their products, but their service. How often have you purchased a $30 bottle of foundation just to get home and notice that it matches okay? You are then forced to either return the product or deal with the obvious mismatch. This problem is alleviated with Everyday Minerals. The sample kit includes 3 foundations, 1 concealer, and 1 blush/powder. This setup allows you to test the foundations free until you find the correct match! It is truly brilliant.

Now let me discuss the product a bit more. Whereas BE offers only one formula for their foundation, EM offers 4! These include: matte, semi-matte, original glo, and intensive. Each formula offers its own advantages. Matte is ideal for those with extremely oily skin. Semi-matte is nice for combination skinners that prefer a matte look. Original glo is moisturizing formula making it perfect for dry skin tones. Finally intensive is the highest coverage formula. As you can see, Everyday Minerals has created an extremely appealing line. They offer great customer service, a large variety of formulas and shades, and all at a fraction of the price for BE! Give Everyday Minerals a shot - you will not regret it!

I used to use BE, but I found that it made me look very shiny. Also, i had trouble finding an exact match for my medium beige hispanic skin tone. BE's medium beige looked grey on my skin, and the next shade up looked too brown...like i had dirt on my face. Hopefully EDM will work for me. i can't wait to get my samples. Wish me luck!

BE is made with Bismuth%2C that is a byproduct of LEAD and NOT mined from nature. It made my skin ITCH like crazy%21 Try Exact Match Minerals if you want to try a great makeup%21 They even have a free sample kit%21

I'm glad that there are more mineral makeup selections on the market now. The bismuth in BE irritated my skin so I have to find MMU that has no bismuth in it.

BE is still the best mineral makeup. And it has nothing in it which would dry out your skin. Plus, to call your makeup a "mineral" makeup.. only 15 percent of the makeup has to be made with minerals. The rest of your product can have any preservatives or other chemicals it would like. BE is 100 percent natural. It has also been proven to improve skin over time. I still like BE the best. And shopping at their new boutiques is awesome! They give excellent customer service and color match you perfectly. xoxo

Another good mineral makeup is found at Aromaleigh.com. They have several tones to choose from and you can mix them together. If you want to try samples first, the sample prices aren't too bad.

I have used it for several months now. I always thought that a powder foundation wouldn't stay on all day. Aromaleigh's is the only one I have ever tried, but I like it so much that I'm not interested in buying or trying the others.

I could not wear the Bare Minerals--probably because of the bismuth. My face broke out. I returned the kit and tried the Everyday Minerals. No problems at all and I love it. Give EM a try with a sample kit. Lots of shades to choose from.

I also tried Bare Minerals but am now SOLD on EDM. I absolutely love this product. I am particularly fond of the concealer that you can use wet or dry and it seems the best at covering my melasma patches. I also love the kabuki brush. It is so much softer than the one you get with the bare minerals start up kit. You can't go wrong with the sample offer. I think it really sells their product.

I love everyday minerals! I used 2 use Bare minerals and i was very happy with how it made my skin look. I used it 4 about 2 years and the cost started 2 add up. I had 2 stop using it because i had a baby and i didnt really have that much money 2 be spending 60 dollars on makeup. So then on of my friends told me about everyday minerals. I trusted it was a good product because her skin looked very nice and natural. I got my makeup and it was very easy and i swear i got the same results that i used 2 get from bare minerals. I have now been using everyday minerals for 5 months and i have got so many compliments on my skin. and the best part, It doesnt make me broke. I LOVE THIS STUFF
