Everyone and Everything Around You is a Teacher

Everyone and everything around anyone is a teacher in one way or another. This can be seen from us learning everyday of our lives even when we grow out of what people believe is the "learning" time of our lives. This is in fact wrong because even as an old grandmother or grandfather, one can easily learn many things from the world, like how they used to behave as little kids from their grand children or even how it feels being 85 years old. However, many people will disagree that everyone and everything is a teacher and they have seemingly just reasons to believe so.

First and foremost, everything and everyone around us is a teacher because we can learn many things from them. From young we imitate our parents to learn how to walk or mumble our first words. Basically our parents in this case is the teacher as we are learning from them. As we grow older, we learn how to run and even to push our body further and further where we never knew possible. This is only possible through one main activity, which is learning. Thus learning is an important process which occurs when there is a teacher and a student. However, many people may think that everyone, especially everything, may not be a teacher.

To many people everything around them is not a teacher. After all, a non-living thing like a door probably can not teach us anything. To these people, the door is a mere tool used to serve a purpose of protecting one's privacy and does not go further then this menial task. In actual fact, this is not really true because it is the way you look at whatever it is that can make it a teacher.

It does not matter what the item is, or what purpose it is suppose to serve that can teach you something. It is actually the point of perspective in which you view the item in which allows everything around us to be a teacher. In the case of the door, one may think that it is a normal piece of wood. However if one is to look carefully, one can learn how a door is created, how the pieces of wood are so carefully measured and joined and even which way the grains of each piece of wood is closely alternated to ensure maximum strength. From this, we can see that the most common thing around us can even teach us something that we did not know and can thus be considered a teacher.

However, to certain people, being a teacher requires training and qualifications, thus not everyone around us can be teachers. Teachers should be trained by more educated teachers who can pass on the knowledge so they can then pass the baton on to us, the next generation. Teachers must know what they are doing and must know that what they bring to class is essential in changing the lives of so many students. They must be well read to be given a chance to forge the future. However, this may not be entirely true as we must now look at the meaning of a teacher.

A teacher is something or someone that manages to instill something that we did not know before into our lives. This is not done only by school teachers or tuition teachers. Even the class bully can be an example of a teacher. The class bully can teach us what we should not be in life. He can also teach us to pull up our socks and learn to defend our own dignity and pride. Bullys can even teach us emotions like fear for our first time if we accidentally get into his path. the naughtiest "kid" on the block can also teach us a lesson or two including how to not get into trouble by not following in his footsteps or how to escape from getting caught in a sticky situation. These life skills are one of those that cannot be learnt from normal school teachers or in a classroom. This proves that actually, even the most unlikely person can be a teacher to us as we learn something new from this person.

Thus, everything, even the worse thing or person in every aspect of life is a teacher and is able to teach us things we never knew before because the world is full of unsolved mysteries and puzzles yet to be discovered by every individual. The main thing that we must understand that this is only true if we are able to look at everything and everyone from every single point of view there is and only by doing so can we realize that these people and things can actually provide us with a real all rounded education.
