Evil Army: Memphis-made Thrash Metal at Its Finest & Loudest!!

Jodie Gibson
In the true spirit of Memphis, it has given birth to yet another special sound, known mostly to older fans of Slayer, mixed with some serious punk attitude.

There isn't exactly a sound quite like Evil Army, who do their best to maintain their extreme image, while playing like speed-driven maniacs, with the best sound I've heard in years. Currently on Get Revenge Records, these men are soon to make their mark upon the world.

If you haven't had the pleasure of hearing Realm of Death, you are missing the angst of life alone, the darkness, and feelings of rage that, in reality, beat inside every one of us, yet it takes the likes of Evil Army, with members Rob Evil, on guitars and vocals, Micheal Murder on drums, and newly recruited bassist, Jay Reatard, to drive home the complete nails on the coffin of injustice.

In the song Conquer Human Life, a definate crowd pleaser for the Memphis audiences, it seems to release rage just listening to the music blasting past your brain at breakneck speed.

Evil Army represents what the older generations have always feared, someone speaking of our violent world, in a message that we can easily recieve.

Of all the shows I've been to in the past year, Evil Army always gets the biggest, best, involved crowd, and they are some of the best guys to party with, too, as I've also had that pleasure.

These guys are definately going somewhere soon, and Memphis will definately miss them...

They are about to leave on their North American tour, heading up through Chicago and New York, playing with the likes of Despotic Robot, and others that have played with them down here. They've also had the pleasure of playing with Goatwhore, Eye Hate God, the Misfits, Psyopus, and countless others, and many people are now inquiring about them.

I'm looking forward to hearing what comes from them next, in my eyes, ever-loving Slayer fan that I am, they just might be the next best thing.

I'm 32, I've got a weird sense of humor, and a huge collection of rock n roll posters, most older than myself. I have a seven year old son and ten years of wedded-like bliss. I've gone to tons of concerts...  View profile
