Evony Trick 1: How to Shorten Time in Game Play

For those who play Evony, the game play is fun and addictive. The downfall is the real time aspect of the game. Training troops, building resource fields, building city buildings and researching in the academy all take place in real time. This real time can sometimes take days to accomplish. There are however ways that a player can shorten the time that is needed to accomplish these tasks when they no longer have speed ups available. After playing for months as Sabrina Marie on sever 80, I have learned how to shorten some of the real world time that it takes to do things. The real trick is in your hero and your research.

Construction:

When doing any type of construction in Evony you will need to appoint a high political hero as your mayor. The higher the political attribute the shorter the construction time on buildings, walls and resource fields. You only need this hero to be the mayor until you hit the build or upgrade button. After that you can switch your mayor to another hero.

For example: Upgrading a barracks from level 5 to level 6 will take me 1 hour 1 minute and 59 seconds. Now I appoint a political hero with 56 political attributes as my mayor. Now it will take me only 57 minutes and 47 seconds to do my upgrade.

Inside your academy you need to research your construction as high as you can. This also shortens the time that it takes to do construction. With each upgrade you shave off 10% of the construction time. The above example is with my construction at a level 7.

Training Troops:

Before going to your barracks to train any troops you need to make sure you have a high attack hero set as your mayor. The higher the attack attributes of your hero the quicker you can train troops. This equals more troops trained in shorter amounts of time and more time you can spend attacking other cities within the Evony world.

For example: Training 31 archers takes me 1hour 21 minutes and 7 seconds without an attack hero as mayor. Now I appoint an attack hero with 68 attack attributes as my mayor. Now it will only take me 1 hour 1 minute and 29 seconds to train 31 archers.

Inside your academy you need to research military traditions as high as you can to train troops faster. Each upgrade makes training time shorter by 10%. My above example is also with my military tradition at level 8.

Research:

When conducting research in your academy the time it takes to do research can take forever. To shorten this time you will need to appoint a high intelligence hero as mayor. This allows for research to be done quicker.

For example: Taking metal casting research from a level 5 to a level 6 would take me 6 hours 44 minutes and 47 seconds. After going and appointing a hero with 126 intelligence attributes as my mayor the research time now only takes me 4 hours 15 minutes and 14 seconds.

There is no research that you can do to shorten your research unfortunately.
