EVP: The Dead Speak - a Killers Confession?

Recording of a Real Ghost Voice

EVP Researcher
I remember it was a chilly night. The date was December 29th, 2008. It was nice and dark with a sliver of moon casting dim light upon the graveyard that we were about to investigate. Making dark shadows of the Grave Markers, even more dark upon the winter lawn. Our purpose for the 8:30 PM visit; hopes of catching the elusive "Voices of the Dead". In other words, we were trying to capture E.V.P.'s. EVP stands for Electronic Voice Phenomena. This is when you use a recording devise to capture voice of the deceased that were not audible at the time of recording. For some reason, they are there. Why, who, and how is the reason that we investigate. Many different messages are heard from our departed brethren.

Back to the story. The cemetery we investigated that night was not a stranger to us. We have been there several times in the past with mixed results. Sometimes we get the "Dead to Speak", and sometimes we don't. There are several hundred "Residence" at this cemetery. It sits in the country along a small highway. Graves from the mid 1800's to present dot the landscape. We pulled in and drove to the back of the cemetery. My wife and daughter both exited the van with recorders in hand. They remained about 25 yards apart from each other. I grabbed my digital recorder and went to the opposite side away from them. It is an odd feeling doing a cemetery investigation. It is dark, quite, and somewhat more still. Perhaps that is just the heighten awareness and adrenaline. You speak out loud asking questions to the wind. You feel a little silly to be honest. However, a good EVP capture makes it all worthwhile.

Not paying attention to the other investigators, I started in with an introduction, and battery of questions to the spirits. My wife and daughter did the same staying semi close to one another. They had flashlights and I had none. I did, however, have a digital camera as well as my trusty RCA digital recorder. I snapped photos and continued to speak out loud. After about 15 minutes of questioning and listening, I headed back to the parked van. My daughter and wife were already inside and ready to head home.

Recording at an investigation is only one step of the "Ghost Hunting" process. The next step is to analyze the audio and Photos. Upon reviewing the digital photos, I found nothing out of the ordinary. That is easy to do, just download them in my computer and review. The audio takes a little more time. First the audio is downloaded on to the computer. Next it is converted in to an mp3 file. After the conversion, it can then be put into an audio program. This program allows you to amplify, filter...etc. Upon reviewing the audio we found some very disturbing evidence. Is this the voice of a killer? A confession of a killer? A bragging killer? You be the judge...
