Examination of Aphrodite

Aphrodite is known as the goddess of love since she is very beautiful and mostly because the number of affairs she has had. It is said that she had an affair with a handsome and charming Adonis, but it was said that their relationship had a tragic end. Then she had an affair with Anchises a moral. This was arranged by Zeus which in result hero Aeneas was born. There is also a legendary passionate affair between Ares the god of war and Aphrodite and they had a beautiful goddess named Harmonia. Then she had another affair with Dionysos, the god of wine. You can imagine what happened; she had another kid named Priapus. Then she had yet another child as a result of Hermes scheme to get her attention. The child's name is Hermaphroditus. Then comes her real husband named Hephaestus, god of fire. You'd think they had a child too, but no Hephaestus was too busy working so Aphrodite took this time to have her affairs. I really think she should be called the goddess of prostitution.

It's a mystery how she came to life. Some say she was born from sea foam, but that isn't what I'm here to talk about. One of the most prominent myths is that she started the Trojan War, the greatest war in Greek mythology. This happened starting at a wedding ceremony. When Aphrodite discovered that she was not invited she decided to make some conflict. She put a golden apple with "For the Fairest" inscribed on it. The goddesses began to fight over it so. In the end the goddesses that were left to fight about it were Hera, Athena, and of course Aphrodite. They got Paris, a whimpy prince who was supposedly the most handsome mortal, to decide who was the most beautiful. None of the goddesses want to be fair and bribed him with things such as a promise to make him a powerful warrior or a great king, but this prince didn't care for those things. Aphrodite promised him the most beautiful woman in the world causing him to say she was the most beautiful. Since the most beautiful woman, Helen, was already married to a king this caused a huge war known as the Trojan War.
