Excedrin Migraine Review

Migraine relief is a little easier to come by with Excedrin Migraine. This is great news for anyone that has infrequent or mild attacks. Migraine attacks are usually one sided headaches that can cause sensitivity to light, sound and smells along with skin tingling and sight difficulties.

Excedrin Migraine is available over the counter and costs around $4 for a 24 count bottle. The green color of the bottle will prevent anyone from taking the wrong medicine, but the child proof lid might prevent you from opening the bottle.

The Excedrin Migraine medicine works to relieve the pain caused by migraine headaches. It does not prevent migraine headaches. It also does not work directly to stop migraine reactions such as tingling hands, sight difficulty, light and sound sensitivity or the aura.

The pain relief from Excedrin Migraine works wonders on light to medium migraine attacks. If the medicine is coupled with dark and cold therapy, migraines wither away to nothing in little time. However, Excedrin Migraine works well by itself, especially on light migraine attacks.

Excedrin Migraine is a combination of Acetaminophen, Aspirin and Caffeine. The combination works better at relieving pain than a single dose of Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen. Caffeine has been used for years as a pain relief aid. While there is only 250 mg of Acetaminophen, 250 mg of aspirin and 65 mg of caffeine, the recommended dose is two caplets taken with a glass of water in a 24 hour period. Ask a doctor before giving to anyone younger than 18 years of age.

The Excedrin Migraine comes with warnings about Reyes syndrome, allergic reactions and overdose. Women who are pregnant or breast-feeding should not use Excedrin Migraine before consulting a health official or doctor. The warning also states that "it is especially important not to use aspirin during the last three months of pregnancy unless definitely directed to do so by a doctor because it may cause problems in the unborn child or complications during delivery".

An alcohol warning is also printed which states for anyone who consumes three or more drinks a day to talk to their doctor about the use of pain relievers and fever reducers. Acetaminophen and aspirin may cause liver damage and stomach bleeding.

Migraine attacks can ruin your day. And it isn't always possible to receive migraine treatment through medical doctors. With Excedrin Migraine within easy reach, migraine relief isn't that far away.
