Kentucky Horse Park
1200 acres is more than enough for this famous horse park Lexington takes immense pride in their tourist attractions, and this is one of their biggest by far. Take a visit to the park and see all the famous and beautiful breeds many different ways. The park offers horseback riding and carriage rides for those with a sense of adventure. Shows, programs, and museum exhibits occupy a large part of the fascination, and anyone can learn alot while you take in the beauty of the equine. Check out the working horse farm, a wonderful memorial made out to the famous racehorse Man o' War, or camp out in the campground, filled with activities! Red Mile Harness Track, Inc.
This horsetrack proves to be a winner as it dates back over a hundred years old, all the way back to 1875. It is Lexington's oldest race course. Come on in and watch harness racing, sometimes known as standardbred racing, which is horses pulling drivers in two-wheeled carts around a set course. Yearling sales and other events are currently held at red Mile. See the main attraction, the Red Barn, which is a cupola-topped building that was built in 1880 and used for illegal gambling when it was outlawed.
