Exclusive Video: James O'Keefe on Hannity: The Liberal Media Slandered Me!

Marc Schenker
James O'Keefe thinks the liberal media slandered him in regards to his arrest last week on charges including supposed wiretapping of a senator's office and posing as a repairman to get access to a part of the office he ordinarily wouldn't. Appearing on Hannity's FNC show, O'Keefe also made it abundantly clear that "it was completely false" that he and his colleagues had any form of wiretapping equipment when they were arrested. O'Keefe also blasted the liberal media misreporting as "journalistic malpractice" and compounded that by implying he's keeping his options open with regards to potentially suing the reporters for not correcting their untrue allegations of wiretapping.

James O'Keefe, of course, is the intrepid, hard-hitting filmmaker/journalist whose videos last year busted the unethical group ACORN for employing wrongdoers who repeatedly gave advice encouraging various criminality like prostitution and child sex-enslavement. His arrest touched off a firestorm among liberals and conservatives last week with liberals-predictably because they take pleasure in other's difficulties-gloating sadistically at his arrest because they laughably think this somehow removes all the ACORN scandal that was uncovered and conservatives generally being somewhat skeptical about the true nature/motives of his arrest.

Hannity's interview was the first time O'Keefe was able to set the record straight, especially in light of concerns of a potentially shady, ideologically based prosecution of him and his colleagues. In O'Keefe's version, he and his colleagues were present at Louisiana senator Landrieu's office not to wiretap, not to do crime, but merely to investigate widespread concerns-that, unsurprisingly, the liberal, mainstream media refused to cover since she's a Democrat!-that Landrieu was maybe jamming her own phones in order to avoid massive, constituent backlash over her involvement in the bribe that bought her vote for the senate version of Obamacare for $300 million.

O'Keefe did admit to dressing up as a repairman while inside Landrieu's office; however, he justified this by saying that that's merely a part of hard-hitting, investigative journalism, the kind that 60 Minutes et al used to do, but have since abandoned to focus on more ideological, Democrat-helping propaganda. When one takes a breath for a moment and considers all the undercover investigation that, for instance, news magazines like Dateline NBC have done for years to bust people, one can certainly see the validity in O'Keefe's analogy.

Expressing some minimal regret, O'Keefe waxed philosophical that, perhaps, in retrospect, he could well have used different methods and been "a little more careful, a little more thoughtful" about the investigative tools he uses for his investigations. Pressed by Hannity repeatedly about the details of the case, O'Keefe had to refuse many times over, citing the ongoing investigation. O'Keefe also expressed a desire to have his footage from Sen. Landrieu's office released by the government, as he asserted that it would disprove the liberal media's claims.

Proving the arrest hasn't dampened his morale or spirits, O'Keefe even cracked a wiseguy joke about the quality of the food being terrible in jail, where he spent the night. He also iterated in the strongest, most confident means possible his so-called mission purpose of his investigative pieces. When pressed by Hannity if this arrest had caused him to maybe change a bit, O'Keefe merely resolutely replied that his goal has always been to expose corruption as an investigative journalist, and he promised to continue doing that, regardless of the charges.

The interview then switched to the unlucky matter of the politicization of his case, which has already been seen by some as retribution for O'Keefe's exemplary work in busting the Democrats' and libs' organization-of-choice, ACORN. O'Keefe did in fact place the blame for the aforementioned on his work exposing ACORN; some examples of politicization include made-up falsehoods by the liberal media talking about "gag orders" and even reports of O'Keefe being denied his right to a lawyer and a phone call!

If true, such rumors of politicization are certainly nothing but par-for-the-course activity in how Democrats go about their business. Andrew Breitbart, O'Keefe's patron for lack of a better term, asserted that O'Keefe was arrested as payback for his group's pressure on AG Eric Holder to investigate the ACORN mischief uncovered by O'Keefe. Democrats have a long history of misusing the prosecutor's office to railroad Republicans and conservatives. Just ask Tom DeLay whose political career ended a few years ago when he was unjustly hunted by Democrat Ronnie Earle on questionable charges of violating election laws. Though nothing ever came of the charges, Earle's on record as saying he'll continue to try to get DeLay on money-laundering charges.

The "State run media" as Limbaugh calls the main stream media seem to rely on this tactic as a matter of course. Thank you for the article!

Telling how the NY Times featured his arrest on the front pages...

Good reporting. There's so much corruption in the senate and house that it's pathetic. I believe that Soros was the driving force for Obama's election. I think he manipulated the oil market with futures. However, now that B.O. has increased the deficit by billions, the feds will print more money. More money means devaluation of the dollar and since oil is priced by the American dollar, higher oil prices. We're in for a depression like you've never seen. Any rise in the stock market now is similar to the bear rise of the 1930's, right before the bottom fell out.

I believe him, he should have known he was a target and not ventured into fed world.

Good reporting on this, Marc. O'Keefe is indeed being gagged, silenced by the liberals who don't like their propagandist antics exposed. It's frightening.

Nolan O'Brian, and I guess that paragon of journalistic virtue, the demented, senile Dan Rather "Bias" would be considered an "investigative reporter." Do everyone a favor and STFU!!
