We all know that exercise may not be the most thrilling part of your day, but chances are, it will be the most beneficial. We all know that exercising helps increase your energy level, decrease your weight, and help prevent things like high cholesterol and heart disease. However, did you know that exercise can help reduce your stress levels too? It is true, exercise can help make you a less stressed out person.

So many problems today are stress related. We might not think much of it, figuring that our life is our life, and there is no way to make it less stressful. Health problems really can be related to your stress levels. Many people believe that it is just a doctors way of brushing you off. The truth is, stress really can reduce your health.

Exercise can help reduce your stress level, while helping to increase your immune system. Any sort of exercise will do, you do not have to run a five mile marathon. Simple things like bending, stretching, reaching and walking are all great ways to exercise. Those fancy expensive exercise machines are not necessary either. You can exercise anytime, anywhere. You simply need to get up and give it a go. Sometimes it is as easy as adding more movement to your daily routine. Instead of fighting for the closest parking spot at the store, park a little more out of the way, and walk up there.

I know you have seen those goofy people in spandex on TV counting and jumping around like idiots right? Well, if you like aerobic exercise, you might just want to give it a go. Get one of your friends to do it with you, and it can actually be quite fun. If that is not up your ally, take that friend on a nice long walk with you. I am sure you have heard it before, but walking really is the greatest exercise there is. Just put on a pair of sneakers, and get moving.

If you think the weather is too hot or cold for a good walk, then try walking around your house. A few laps up and down those stairs, or across the house is just as beneficial as walking out in the hot sun or cold wind. Not to mention you might get more done on your walk, helping reduce the amount of house work you have left when your done, which could in turn help your stress level even more. If you plan on jogging in place, you may want to invest in a jogging board. It's a soft padded board that will make the jumping, running, or walking in place easier for your knees. They are very small and easy to store.

There are so many different exercise you can do that will help reduce your stress levels. Walking is a great way, as is running, jump-rope, or even aerobics. If you really try and put your mind to it you can accomplish more then you thought with your new reduced stress levels. If you really notice a change, and want even lower stress levels, you may want to invest in a gym membership. Most gyms offer a sauna you can sit in after you exercise, which helps reduce stress even more.

So as you can see, apart from all the physical benefits of exercise, there is always your mental health to consider. A simple walk a day, or aerobics class can bring your stress levels down to a new low. With these new lower stress levels you will be so happy that you will be able to do more with your free time and new found energy. Get out there and get moving on your way to less stress!
