Working out at the gym is fun, but sometimes it is not always practical. If you grow up in a small town, the closest gym may be thirty minutes away. Beyond that, gyms can add another expense on a budget that is already tight. However, because of these aforementioned excuses, there is no reason to extenuate working out. You can workout at home just as easily as you can at a gym and get the same results in regards to weight loss and muscle building. I'm going to give you some exercises that will help you accomplish just that if you prefer to workout at home.

The first exercise that you should make sure to do at home is bodyweight squats. You don't need to use any weight for this, all you will be doing is squatting using your own bodyweight. Don't assume that this is a really easy exercise because it is not. When you get into doing higher repetitions, you will certainly feel it! Begin by doing a simple 4 sets of 25 repetitions everyday with short rest periods of 30-60 seconds between each set. This will help to tone your legs and lose fat! If you feel like really burning, then you can try putting on a back pack and holding your arms ahead of you. Maybe one day you will be able to do one legged squats!

The next exercise to do is jumping jacks. Here goes a fun fact: Did you know that jumping jacks uses almost every muscle in your body? The exception is your jaw - in which case you can chew gum but don't choke! A fun way to encourage you to do jumping jacks is to do them throughout every commercial break while you are watching T.V. until your show comes back on. Do this for about 5-7 commercial breaks a day. Either you will get in shape or you will stop watching a lot of T.V. It's a win-win situation!

Another exercise that you can do at home is isometric butt squeezes. This will firm and tighten your butt. It's a simple exercise - just squeeze your butt as hard as you can for 10-20 seconds for 5 minutes a day. Another thing that you can do in addition to this is to squeeze your butt as you walk. Try it, you'll know why I mentioned it!

These exercises will help you to get in great shape and make you feel less guilty about not going to the gym. They will help you to lose weight and shape your thighs and butt. Have fun and enjoy your results!
