You work an eight hour day to come home and cook, clean, get the kids bathed, get them ready for bed, etc. How is there any way to have time and energy to work on ourselves? Well, here are a few suggestions for this. Some may work for you, some may not. It doesn't hurt to try at least one and then boost up to two or more whenever you can! Be creative and come up with your own ways every day during your routine to take a moment for yourself!
Exercise while you cook. If you're preparing food, standing in place, then here's an exercise that will work your calves and legs and you can do it while cooking! Standing in one place, raise and press your weight on the front pads of your feet. Hold for three seconds, and then lower yourself back down. Do these as many times as you want, or can stand, and it will help get them legs in shape! You can easily do whatever other exercises you want, that fit your capability at the time.
Exercise at work. If you have a desk job, like my self, you can easily get a few exercises in while at work. Stretching is very important to any exercising, so do this as often as you can as well. While I could easily suggest a few workouts, I'm not a fitness expert and do not want to be for the blame of something happening, therefore, I will suggest where to look.
Exercise while your kids are in the bath. If you have a small bathroom like my self, it's hard to do much in their other than what you are supposed to. But I find that lifting my weights while my daughter is in the tub makes it easier to get a quick work out in. Even if it's just for 10 minutes, I feel better knowing I accomplished part of the routine. Do this or any other exercise you like while your kids are busy in the tub.Run with your kids outside. If your children are old enough to run with you outside, take them with you. If you cannot run, jog in place. Maybe jump rope. The kids would love to be involved with that. My daughter does squats with me, and tries all the other ones, but doesn't always succeed. I have found it the easiest for me to work out, is when I can do something else during. It's probably not the most efficient work out in the world, but I feel rejuvenated afterwards and feel better the next day when I feel the muscle pain. I tell myself not to be overwhelmed that I do not have the 'alone' time I used to, to work out or do whatever I wanted, but to be creative and come up with ways to work out when I'm doing all the daily things as well as things my daughter can do with me.
