Exit Poll Roundup for Maryland

The races in Maryland are tough. The Maryland Governor race is between Martin O'Malley and Robert L. Ehrlich, who have been battling it out for quite some time now. There are a number of competitors for House and Senate, and some Marylanders must also decide to approve slot machines. Let's see what some of these people are thinking and who they've voted for.

"I voted all Republican. It is my hope that the Republicans take back this country because I'm so sick and tired of big government and too much regulation. Every single time I turn around, it seems that there are regulations for this, that, and the other. The government is always telling us how to live. With Republicans taking back our country, there will be fewer regulations, and we will be able to look forward to our constitutional rights being respected and more conservatism. I'm sick of all these liberals messing everything up. If the Republicans take over, they can fix all the crap the liberals did." -- Branden Grosvalet, United States Military, Waldorf, Maryland.

"I voted for Ehrlich because not only will he lower the taxes we have to pay, he will not condone all of these budget cuts. Being that I'm blind, I utilize many of the state services for individuals with disabilities. Because there are many steep cuts on state budget, I'm unable to receive these services. As a result, my college education has been on hold because I'm unable to afford my assistive technology. A good friend has promised to help me by purchasing the technology and paying off the student loan that I have at present, but it shouldn't have to be this way." -- Tyron Bratcher, Home Maker, Baltimore, Maryland.

"I don't like the idea of slot machines in our state. I want to keep our state as family friendly as possible. While slots are theoretically a good idea for raising money for funding various state programs and fixing other spending issues, I'm afraid that they will turn our state into a place like Atlantic City. I really do not want that." -- Alicia Blockinger, Home Maker, Baltimore, Maryland.

"I've voted for Ehrlich because he promises a number of great things for our state. One notable promise that he makes is to bring acting back to Maryland. I've been an actor for over a decade now, starring in both The Corner and The Wire as a police officer, and I've had a number of roles in commercials, America's Most Wanted, Unsolved Mysteries, and City by the Sea among many others. If acting is brought back, actors can stay local to receive good work. I look forward to seeing this happen." -- Bobby Brown, Actor/Business Owner, Waldorf, Maryland.

"I've voted for Robert Ehrlich because he not only plans to improve the state's budget, he is going to bring acting back to our state. I've thought about getting into acting as a career, and if Ehrlich brings acting back, many acting jobs will be local and easy to get." -- Pilar Brown, Student/Receptionist, Waldorf, Maryland.

"I want the Democrats to take over our state entirely. I've voted all Democrat because I'm sick and tired of hearing Obama say that he can't do everything he wants to because there aren't enough Democrats in office. I'm all about giving everyone a fair chance, so my attitude is that if I voted all Democrat and give Obama the tools that he needs to make things happen, then I'll give him the fair chance and see if he will stand by his word." -- Mark Wise, Carpet Cleaner, Waldorf, Maryland.

"I'm all for all of the Republicans winning. If the Republicans win, this will mean lower taxes, fewer government regulations, and stronger conservative values. The problem is that this country has gotten so far away from God that it is sickening. If we all come closer to God as a whole, then we will be stronger as a people. It can start right here in Maryland." -- Marlena Shelton, Home Maker and Advocate for the Blind, Baltimore Maryland.
