Experience the Rich Gourmet Delights While Traveling Across Australia

Australia is the sixth largest country of this planet, and is among the most visited countries in the world by travelers from all over the globe. Its peaceful valleys, cool lagoons, lush rainforests, and slopes iced with snow give reflection of heaven on earth. Much has been written and described about its scenic flights and surreal beaches. Let us peep through its dining specialties too.

Australia's cuisine is diverse, tantalizing, and generous. The menu is no longer simply defined by plentiful meat. Modern taste is an inventive fusion of eastern and western influences, herbs and spices, plus flavours and styles prepared by some of the world's best chefs. No matter where you are, Australia will impress you with its mouthwatering gastronomic adventures.

Light a barbeque on the beach. Tuck into succulent steak. Wash it down with cold beer. Enjoy fine wine and gourmet dining at an upmarket cosmopolitan kitchen. Feast on fresh seafood in an outdoor beachfront restaurant. Watch the world go by with a latte at a sidewalk café. For the truly adventurous non-vegetarians, there is kangaroo soup, emu sausages, and camel or crocodile meat. For vegetarians, however, there is no less to enjoy in plentiful of dishes.

In South Australia, look no further than the fabulous Barossa Valley, and hour's drive outside Adelaide. This is Australia's wine capital-home to more than 100 wineries.

Prestigious labels such as Orlando and Jacob's Creek, Penfolds, Wolf Blass and Rockford hail from the leafy hills and vales of the Barossa. Tour the vineyards, enjoy a hot-air balloon ride, visit the wineries, and sample a glass of wine in the invigorating climate. You can even blend your own wine at Penfold's winery.

Look beyond the wine menu. Barossa cuisine has a distinctive Germanic flavour. Enjoy tender meat cuts, fresh fruits, and vegetables. Add warm bread from the local bakery, plus some cheese, and your meal is complete. Alternatively, take a class with a gourmet chef. Learn some old-fashioned recipes and delight your family and friends back home.

After your meal, stroll through the Barossa Valley's splendid countryside. Hike in the national park; visit markets, historical buildings or churches. Take in a museum or an art gallery. Shop for contemporary and traditional goods, or fit in some golf on one of the Barossa's excellent courses.

Other famous Australian wine regions to explore are Hunter Valley (2-hour drive from Sydney), Yarra Valley (1-hour drive from Melbourne), and Margaret River (3-hour drive from Perth).
