Anxious of the second hand car condition you will have! Thinking of the money you will spend for your second hand car. Fearful of the car can't start up in the early morning. You will not face all this problems if you inspect and check the car condition before buying it.
Let me share some of my basic experiences, there are something that you need to look out as a MUST check items before you saying YES to the car.
First of all, you need to check on the mileage of the car. Normally, an average car will consume about 10,000 to 18,000 km a year. Any car driven more than 18000 km a year will not be a good option as the car had been driven hard. Thus, it may either have many repairs before or may need to repair sooner than the schedule time. But this does not indicate that second hand car with mileage below 10000km will be a good buy. Because some car which is irregular in use will leads to engine problems, meter which has been tampered with. You might need to give careful attention if the mileage is low but the cars condition seems unusually worn.
Apart from the mileage, you need to inspect the car body before deciding the deal. Check the body of the car and make sure there is no corrosion or rust. Do remember to check on the rubber around windows and doors, avoid those with cracks and dryness. Rubber for the car will be a good indication of an old and fragile car.
To avoid getting a car where the engine is wear and torn, you need to check the car when you first start the engine. Confirm that the smoke come out from the exhaust is not unusually thick and the oil indicator will move up after a few seconds of starting the car. If both of this does not happened as mention, then there might be a big problem with the engine.
You must test drive the car before you decide that the car is a good deal. Listen carefully to the sound produce by the car when you drive. Confirm that there are no knocking and rattling sounds when test drive the car.
Have a look at the temperature indicator in the car, as it should not overheat at abnormal rate. You can only observe this after start up the cars for at least 30 minutes.
Lastly, you need to get the car registration card either an original or photo copy from the owner to confirm with the chassis number and ensure both of the number is matching.
It is safer to get it from car authorized dealer. If you are getting the car directly from the owner, make sure you view the car for few times. Build up a close relation with the owner. Get to know the reason of him selling the car and who normally will drive the car as men driver will drive harsh compare to lady. As the car previous owner is crucial, a person who knows how to take care of the car will result in better car condition compare to those who does not appreciate car.
Do prepare a checklist before your second hand car inspection and buying. Do make sure everything is at great condition before buying it.
