Experience the Trans-Siberian Orchestra Winter Tour

TSO - Get in the Holiday Spirit

M.Soozan
Somewhere close to you during the December and January months, Trans-Siberian Orchestra will be consuming their fans once again this year with another incredible tour.

Two Christmas's ago I took the advice of my 19 year old son and bought tickets to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra for their performance in NYC, for the first time. Knowing only a couple songs and the infamous commercial in which a decorated house for Christmas blinked to the song Wizards in Winter, I knew it would be a good show. Well, I was wrong. It was AWESOME. I was totally mesmerized from the start of the show to the finish. I knew the band was theatrical rock based and I knew it would be loud and fun but what I didn't know was how many other people would share my experience. The arena was a sell-out. The audience ranged from young adults to senior citizens, all coming together to hear a wonderful Christmas story.

Yes, there was loud rock Christmas music played, the bands' hair flying, guitars wailing, drums pounding but then it went into a soloist singing opera, followed by a gospel choir, followed by narration and this continued throughout the nite. But to make it even more exciting was the visual effects! Lazers flashing, spotlights panning across the audience, strobe lights on stage, flames shooting and then, to make you want to cry, "snow" fell onto those fortunate enough to have floor seats. And yes, sadly the story does have to come to an end, but the show does not!.....

The second half was dedicated to music - rock music inspired by the artists that compelled TSO to form. You'll never hear Beethoven done quite like this! Special guest Joan Jett appeared and played onstage with TSO jamming together. The crowd roared with excitement as "I Love Rock N Roll" began. Last year, yes, my 2nd TSO concert, Emerson, Lake and Palmer front man entered the stage and started with "Welcome Back my Friends......" Another thrill for the audience!! Oh yeah, my Mom came, too - a birthday gift to her from her Grandkids!

This year? Well, I don't know who will show up, I don't want to know. I love surprises! And yes, I already have my ticket for this Saturday nite in East Rutherford, NJ. I can't wait!!! I know it will be just as exciting as the previous shows. Of course it will be, it's Trans-Siberian Orchestra!

I highly recommend that if you have an opportunity to go, see Trans-Siberian Orchestra at least once, you won't be disappointed. We've already decided that TSO is our new annual holiday family event. You can get tickets at your local ticket agency via phone or on-line. You can also visit their website www.trans-siberian.com for tour dates, media, merchandise, cd's, etc, or to read my blog go to http://tsony-metroareashows61.blogspot.com. There are several TSO groups touring all across the U.S. I hope you're TSO experience will be one you won't soon forget.

I hope you enjoyed reading my review, as I have enjoyed writing to you about it.

God Bless and Merry Christmas.

I remember last year's show in Dallas...Paul Rogers (Free, Bad Company, etc. etc.) showed up at the end and brought down the house. TSO puts on a great show and the progressive mix with legacy orchestra instruments just flat works. Lights, lasers, snow, it all combines to transport you to another world. We go every year. I buy tickets as soon as they go on sale in August and hold my breath for three months. Maybe Meatloaf will appear one year at the Dallas concert. Can you imagine a Bat outta hell Christmas?
