Montrose Christmas Parade

This year, being their 31st year of celebrating this annual tradition, the organizers of Montrose Christmas Parade will once again capture the interest of spectators as they feature a mix of local entries, regional school bands, celebrities, and dignitaries. This is a great parade where you and your family can truly enjoy especially with all the beautifully decorated floats and the most anticipated Santa Claus' arrival in his Glendale P.D. Helicopter. The parade will travel through Honolulu Avenue.

Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony

One of Glendale's most-awaited holiday events is the city's Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony. For 2007, spectators can expect choral music, a special visit from Santa Claus, and a well-lighted and beautifully decorated Christmas tree. You need not worry about parking because they organizers are providing free parking at the Civic Center Lot and everyone who joins this joyous event will be treated with hot chocolate and candy canes.

Light & Hope: The Forest Lawn Christmas Windows
November 23 - January 6, 2008

This is a unique experience for the holiday season. Light & Hope features the story of the birth and early childhood of Jesus Christ. This is an exhibit of 5 black-lit stained glass windows which includes the Betrothal of Mary and Joseph, the Visitation between Mary and Elizabeth, No Room in the Inn, the Shepherds in the Stable, and finally, the Flight into Egypt. Then, there are two windows that pictures Jesus as a young boy in the temple - first is him when he was 12 years old and the second is a scene in Joseph's carpenter's shop. These beautiful windows are one-of-a-kind and its creation dates back to 1903. These are only brought out during the Christmas Season by Forest Lawn. When you come and visit, you also get to enjoy the beautiful Christmas decors and dazzling lights throughout the Forest Lawn area. It's a perfect contemplative holiday experience for you and your family.

Holiday in the Park

Just approximately 10 minutes away from the heart of Glendale, the tradition of Holiday in the Park will take place. On the same night, Bell Cottage will light their Christmas tree to kick off the holiday season. At the same time, this is where almost all the stores located on Magnolia Blvd (from Kenwood to Buena Vista) will open its doors for everyone to see amazing light displays and holiday decors, as well as, shop for holiday gifts. Part of the tradition is a variety of refreshments available for everyone's enjoyment.
