Why do people blog? People might blog for a variety of reasons. In some cases, people blog simply for the writing experience. They use blogging as a way to improve their writing skills. In other cases, people blog so that they can share their everyday experiences with friends and family that may not live nearby. Still other people blog, as mentioned above, to make money or meet new people. The blogging experience provides the writer with the opportunity to do each and every one of these things, and more.
There are some things to keep in mind, however, when thinking about blog writing. It can take weeks or even months to accomplish certain blogging goals. Most blogs don't make any money in their first few months. Many blogs don't attract very many visitors in their first few months, either. Part of the blog writing experience is about persistence and patience. Eventually, if you write enough quality blog content and spend some time marketing your blog, you will gain readers.
Experiences with blog writing can vary greatly from one person to the next, too. Some people find that blog writing is almost therapeutic, and provides them with a way to let out their anxieties and their frustrations. Other people see blogging as an outlet for their creativity, and like to do new and interesting things with their blog writing. Still other folks like to experience blogging less for the writing component and more for the social side of things, where they can meet new and interesting people. Others enjoy the technical aspect of blog writing, and find that the various technologies, widgets and graphic design elements involved with blogging, are as compelling, if not more compelling, than the blog writing experience.
